The Shamu show will be similar to the summer nighttime Shamu show, and it will more than likely have holiday music playing. It will be more of the old style Shamu show with music, with the whales doing the things that are fun to watch, jumping, splashing, and so on.

No clue what's going on at the Waterfront.

I havent been to SeaWorld recently so I am not sure how and when they decorate. :xmas:

However, I have been planning our up coming Nov 21st visit for a while now and the Christmas version of the lual doesnt start running til the day AFTER Thanksgiving. And if I am correct it is totally sold out for several days in a row now beginning after Thanksgiving!!! It doesnt seem like they start as early as WDW in the decorating departments! I will take note while I am there and post an update when we come home! I love Christmas so I am hoping they are in the spirit when we get there!

cool, i do like the original night time shows. would be nice to see something different, Last year we went in dec all they had was believe which we found a big disappointment (compared to shamu rocks America) I remember speaking to one of the stage staff and they told me how the whales were really stressed from learning all the new show routines.

I haven't been to Sea World for christmas since before the new waterfront. Does the sky tower still get decorated as a giant christmas tree?

Nope. Since the Waterfront has been redone, they haven't done the 300 foot "Christmas tree."

The new buildings in the Waterfront area don't allow them to string the lights safely as done in the past.

two questions,

1. When does Sea Worlds Christmas shows start?

2. Are they worth spending the money to go see?

I watched a video of Shamus Christmas show last year I am assuming and they were playing Trans Siberian christmas music lol. For some reason I HIGHTLY doubt they have a light show or something with shamu jumping, or do they? I know with Shamu Rocks they, somewhat, had lights and stuff.

1. I'm looking on SW's website and it shows the Christmas shows starting the week of Thanksgiving, only on the nights they're open until 8. It looks like they'll run the Christmas shows on the weekends in December and then nightly the busy week of Christmas and New Years.

2. If you're there for the day, sure, it's a new and different show. If you're just going into the park to see the two Christmas shows, No, I wouldn't drop the $70 to see two shows.

Finally home and done w/ Christmas. We went to SW on Nov 21st 07. The day before Thanksgiving. They had the Christmas decorations up. Shell and ocean creature theming which was beautiful. But no shows or anything was Christmas-y yet. They wait til the day after Thanksgiving to start the holiday shows. The new Polar Express show was scheduled to open the Friday after t-giving. I begged to be given a sneak peak but got a polite no. We saw the luau and it was the regular version. Very good by the way! I would recommend that to anyone! We had a great time!! I LOVE SEAWORLD!! It was very crowded first thing in the morning but once we moved away from the entrance I found it surprisingly not as packed as Disney! It was refreshing since most of our time was spent in Disney LINES!!! Take a break from the madness and enjoy SW!!

Well back at last to and I'm glad we went, the Shamus Christmas show was like Shamu rocks America but more well .......Christmas themed lol. makes a good change to the boring believe.

Christmastide i had mixed feelings since it was just fountains / lights mixed to Christmas music on the lake. i really miss sea worlds fireworks / laser shows .
