New CDC Guidance Clarification

With the new CDC guidance regarding no masks for the vaccinated- are children under the vaccination age limit required to wear masks? Asking as we will be there next week. We are going to Disney for 2 days and since they do not require masks outside, it will be a hard sell to get my small kids back into masks if required. The Sea World website is vague, I called but was on hold for what felt like 2 years and I sent an inquiry but have not heard back. I am about to give up on visiting this park all together. Wondering if children are required to be masked or not? Has anyone been in the parks since the change occurred and what have you observed for the little ones? My kids are 2 and 4. Please reply respectfully. This is not a mask debate (I feel people get passionate over masks, my point is not to bring up any sensitive matters). I genuinely would like to know what is the expectation for kids when we plan our Orlando vacation. Thank you.

Disney/Universal/Seaworld are not following CDC guidance.
They are following Orange County/their own rules. OC says no masks for ANYONE outside. (Disney and Universal are following that for common areas but in queues and on attractions masks on for everyone. Seaworld seems to say no masks are required at all inside or out)

Actually, Sea World is NOT requiring masks indoors, unlike Disney and Universal…
Thank you for the reply. So my question is strictly for kids. Have you been to the parks since the guidance change and have the kids been masked. Asking the vaccine is not offered to my kids, so are they enforcing masks on kids? That is what I would like clarification on.

I haven’t been to Sea World but I went to EPCOT on Monday night. About 90% of folks were unmasked, including kids. Whatever you’re comfortable with is fine if you should decide to go 😃

NO ONE has to wear a mask outside in common areas at Disney and Universal.
NO ONE has to wear masks outside or inside at Seaworld.,

Vaccinated/unvaccinated/adults/kids/babies NO ONE.

With this now in effect, I wonder how long before sea world starts to reopen some of their attractions that closed once covid hit. They aren't exactly some of their best attractions but seeing some of them back in action might add a few extra things to see and do though I don't plan to ride on the empire of the penguins hovercrafts due to their tendency to breakdown in areas that are very very cold. 🥶

SeaWorld mask enforcement is a joke. I wouldn't bother worrying about it at all, because even months ago you could have gone the whole day without having been asked to put on a mask.

Thanks! I have never been to Sea World Orlando- not sure I will like the park, but my 4 year loves animals and whales. We are spending a day at Gatorland and thought we could do one at Sea World too to break up our Disney days. The Sea World website verbiage mentions masks so I don’t want to pay then have the kids be stuck having to keep a mask on while my husband and I are unmasked. The website wording must be a general CYA. Thanks again!

obviously quite late to this but we were in several shows where people were escorted out by security for refusing to listen to the folks with the mask signs. I actually thought they were doing a pretty decent job. I guess it depended on the day.

We visited Sea World Friday 5/28 and 80% of the people were unmasked inside and out and when waiting for the fireworks. No one said anything to anyone (masked or unmasked) and it was a lovely day. Maybe it depends on the workers and the crowd. We went to Disney as well and mask enforcement (meaning many people did not have their noses and mouths covered) definitely depended on the cast members. It was more strict at Animal Kingdom than Magic Kingdom. Regardless, we had a great trip to all the parks we visited. I only witnessed a few employees asking people to pull their masks up, but no yelling or security escorts. Perhaps we got super blessed with the days we chose to visit.
