New Cast Member trying to plan a weekend getaway

Hello! I'm a new cast member, I make magic in a state that doesn't have a park; I'm trying to plan a weekend getaway. I know my deposit is one night's stay, plus taxes and fees with the remainder due at check-in, but my question is: Are the CM discounted rooms only at select resorts or can I book any resort (as long as it's available of course)? And is January or late September typically blocked out to CM?
