The must have park lens for a crop canon DSLR is the canon 10-22mm. Ultra wide angle with not a lot of distortion. So we just joined the DSLR family...picked up a Canon T3i 2 weeks ago for a pretty good price ($600 for the body, 2 lenses, 2 memory cards, plus $100 store credit on my My Rewards account. Right now we have 18-55mm and 75-300mm lenses. For DSLR beginners, does anyone have a suggestion on another lense that is a must have for in the parks? We're heading to Disneyland in March and would like to be ready. @wdwmagic @WDWFigment?
I appreciate the help!
is this the one?The must have park lens for a crop canon DSLR is the canon 10-22mm. Ultra wide angle with not a lot of distortion.
I'd also take a look at the Tokina 11-16 if you're in the market for an ultra-wide. Be more concerned about losing 1mm on the wide end than the 6mm at the long end. The advantage is minimal distortion, a fast f/2.8 aperture, and a slightly lower price than the Canon.
Tom, I noticed that they recently released a new version of the lens you mention (with price comparable to the Canon). Any idea on what improvements were made there?

I think it was just the coating on the glass, but I could be wrong. I've only used the first version, which I owned and loved.
