New Button Designs on the way

Within the next few days to weeks both WDW and Disneyland will be rolling out newly designed buttons.

Happy Birthday, I'm Celebrating, 1st Visit, and Happily Ever After will get updates. Just Married and Happy Anniversary are being discontinued and rolled into the Happily Ever After button.

The Just Engaged button had been rumored discontinued for a while now but they were going to hand them out until they were gone. I'm also guessing that the Family Reunion is slated for being discontinued to.

(I'll post pics if I see any of the new ones out and about!)

I'm sure it's because Disney's business has been hurting so badly. They probably can't afford to buy buttons...

Wait a second!

Just Married ended a few years ago. I'm guessing because it focused on a male/female.

That's what they told us in Nov... my wife wanted the gray just married one and all we could find was the happy ever after one. When we asked a manager he told us that they are being discontinued because the are "to exclusive" is how I belive he pit it.

Only thing I am not liking about the HEA one is it looks like it will be hard to write how many years we are celebrating . For example we will be there in Sept for our 10 yr anniversary the old one had room to write 10th on it this one not so much

Observation only: Two generic Mickey heads for Happily Ever After. I have my political thoughts on this which I'll withhold. I have a suggestion, though. How about one version with Mickey/Minnie or Prince/Cinderella and another with the two generic Mickey heads. I realize they're sticking their fingers in the wind and moving along with the culture. The change in text also gets them out of any discussion of marriage (i.e. no more "Engagement" or "Just married").

That's pretty much what the had before. Just married had Mickey/Minnie and then there was Happily Ever After with Cinderella's Coach. The Mickey wedding bands are nice, but maybe too simplistic. Personally I was happy enough with the coach.

seems odd to get rid of the family reunion one

and changing the just married anniversary, just engaged, all into one button is all a bit simplistic does it really cost that much to have a variety

though those 3/4 buttons quickly turn into 6/8 or 9/12 different buttons when including the variations

I'm assuming they are meant to look like Mickey shaped wedding bands.

But yes I think they are getting rid of the male/female pairings as they don't want to introduce male/male and female/female buttons.
i see why they discontinued having characters on them though maybe its time for them to introduce some new characters

since i could see some people getting upset if they got a button with mickey/minnie or a prince and cinderella and then if the same-sex button just hand the generic bands on it as disney currently doesn't have any same-sex characters

i think they wanted to get away from characters period since that could upset same sex unions as disney has no same sex characters at least not yet though not really holding my breath, and having different buttons would draw attention to this fact

Does it say "Walt Disney World" or "Disney Parks?"
