There's not a whole lot of official information out on this yet, but there's a new holiday offering coming to DCA this year, besides World of Color Winter Dreams. And I figured it would need its own thread as photos and video come in this weekend after its official debut on Friday.

Viva Navidad! will take over the Paradise Gardens area in Paradise Pier beginning Friday, and they've already swapped out the Greek skewers menu at Paradise Garden Grill for a new menu of Mexican foods.

According to Miceage in the last Al Lutz Update, here's the scoop on Viva Navidad and this big street show they'll be performing a few times per day...

"Nearby at DCA, in the Paradise Gardens food court area, another new holiday offering will formally debut on Friday. Dubbed Viva Navidad!, the area will be home to a big new street show, new menus and decorations, plus various character appearances, cooking demonstrations, bands, and Hispanic cultural activities. The street show in particular has enjoyed a huge budget from TDA, and is hosted by the Three Caballeros on a rolling bandstand and Minnie and Mickey zooming in on pedicabs. The 10 minute show will be performed daily throughout the afternoon and evening, and features dozens of dancers and street performers, a full Mariachi band as well as a troupe of Brazilian drummers, and large rolling puppets representing festive ladies from Mexico and Brazil, plus Santa and Mrs. Claus for good measure.

The Viva Navidad street party show will take over the parade route from the Silly Symphony Swings to Goofy’s Sky School, as it builds itself to a rousing and rowdy rendition of Feliz Navidad backed by the dozens of dancers and live Mariachis that should prove impossible to not tap your toes to."

This show sounds like it could be a lot of fun. I can't wait to see how it turns out this weekend!

TP, you must have totally missed my thread! It hasn't been updated in weeks, though, so it's not your fault.

We can use your thread.:)

Oops! :D I've been very busy with work the past month and haven't been keeping up with the boards too well.

This modern age never ceases to amaze me. There's already a great video on YouTube from a soft opening/dress rehearsal for the street show from Wednesday afternoon.

It's a ten+ minute long show. I watched the video and for the first four minutes I was like "Oh, fun, what a nice show." And then about the 4 minute mark the Brazilians show up and things really start to rock and roll! More and more dancers pour onto the street, Mickey and Minnie and Mr. and Mrs. Claus swoop in, and the whole thing just takes off. There's like 50 performers and musicians in this "little street show"!

I am probably biased because Feliz Navidad is my favorite Christmas song ever, but this show looks like a winner.

Disneyland's Entertainment Department has done it again. Bravo Disneyland! (Or what's the Spanish translation for the Italian word bravo?)

Well, that video was nothing short of seriously entertaining and cool! I was not expecting that, at all. I'm impressed and I agree, bravo, Disneyland!

I had a chance to check out Viva Navidad in person this weekend, and it really is fantastic.

The street show is the big draw, obviously, but Viva Navidad is an overall concept that offers food, dancing, live bands, cultural displays, dance lessons, arts n' crafts, cooking demonstrations, and of course special merchandise for sale. This is a much bigger deal than the Greek Festival they held for Memorial Day Weekend in this same space.

A few photos of the fun from today's Dateline Disneyland report. http://micechat.com/48182-world-of-color-winter-dreams/

A new Mexican menu takes over at Paradise Garden Grill. I had the Chicken Mole which was very good.

Live bands perform Central American music all afternoon and evening on the Paradise Gardens stage for diners on the patio.

Don't know how to dance to this music? Dance instructors will teach you!

Free arts n' crafts for the kids, and non-free Viva Navidad merchandise is offered.

Disney did a fantastic job with this new holiday offering for DCA.
