Three new venues are being added to Universal Orlando's CityWalk area beginning in December. The current movie theater, the AMC Universal Citywalk 20, has upgraded one of its existing screens to an IMAX screen. The new theater will use the IMAX digital projection system and is a special design that brings the screen closer to the audience. The movie "Avatar" will be the first film screened in the new theater, opening December 18.
Two new quick-service restaurants will open early next year. Fusion Bistro Sushi & Sake Bar is a walk up restaurant that will showcase robotic sushi-rolling machines. The bistro will open in January above the movie theater. In February, Fat Tuesday (a frozen daiquiri chain based in Louisiana) will open between Pat O'Brien's and the groove.
