Nemo's 1/8 "Around the World in 12 Hours" Update

Just returned from a great day at the parks. All I can say is this -- what's with the crowds? MK was packed, MGM was packed (Epcot was OK)...it was crazy. There's a convention in town at the Gaylord Palms (I should know since my dad is attending it) but that shouldn't attract crowds like this.

ANYWAYS...let's get on to the photo update. We'll start at the Disney MGM Studios.

The Army Men from Toy Story were out greeting the arriving guests.

I guess the Voyage of the Little Mermaid is no more.... :lol:

Walls near the Backlot Tour.....

They had two cars out at the entrance to LMA (don't know how long they've been there though).

The Osborne Lights are coming down.


Now a trip to the Yacht & Beach Club....

Some work going on.

All of the resorts still have their Christmas decor up (this is a shot inside the Yacht Club).

Frontierland was PACKED.

Mansion FP still not running -- looks like it's gone for good.

A look inside the queue of The Timekeeper.

A three month old ride with a 'posted' 25 minute wait (turned out to be 10 minutes)....how nice. :lol:

TTA still hasn't recieved "Presented by Alamo Rent-A-Car" signage....

Astro is undergoing an extensive refurbishment.

I also can't believe the sign in front of The Timekeeper. Tomorrowland Tourism Authority? Come on. I can't believe they are actually thinking that the theme of the New Tomorrowland "city" isn't dead. Nice try, but the "City That Never Was" is gone. Fantasyland East reigns :lol:

Boy somebody who works in a cubebacal (mispelled i know) and is sick of looking at walls and then escapes to disney will feel like they are in a nightmare with WALLS,WALLS ans more WALLS all over the place,it look like and pardon the pun but a giant mouse maze in the parks. Maybe i'm wrong,but don't it seem like mickey is be replaced by stitch,l have nothing against stitch he's kinda cool in his own way,but he's just about everywhere and everything. Seems like a sign of the new disney and whats to come and out with the old. l would not be surprised if they came out with a PAL STITCH along with a Pal Mickey this spring. Oh well maybe it's just for this year,least l hope so.

If you go to Disney world and only take photos of construction and stitch, obviously it will seem like they are everywhere. Trust me though it is not that bad. I was at Pop this weekend and their christmas decorations were down on Friday when I got there. However I did see that Port Orleans and Fort Wilderness were still decorated.

Unfortunatly I did not get a picture but they have begun ripping up the concret infront of the Land pavillion. Fortunatly they have yet to remove the sign.

Yea, what's going on with the walls outside the castle?
I agree - Stitch is everywhere! You gotta love the dude though...
I also agree with the whole tomorrowland City thing. That idea worked! not. When I first went I had no idea it was supposed to be a city. I think its better that its not and it is what it comes across as - a little corner of the park devoted to the future?
Am i right? Are we all agreed on this?

Anyway...all this rehab is depressing and hides the beauty of the whole resort - I say down with it asap!

The construction walls around the Castle are for the redoing of the hub. This is in preparation for the new Cinderellabration Show to be presented in front of the Castle.

With all the Stitch promotions and merchandising you would think he is tied to a really great attraction, perhaps an E-Ticket.:lol:

And in addition to all that Yacht Club work, the little inside courtyard areas are also walled off with scaffolding and ladders, AND the main adventure part of Stormalong Bay, slide included, are closed for refurbishment.

That's a lot for one time, whew.
