With Finding Nemo about to pass the Lion King as the most successful Disney movie of all time, how long do any of you think it will be before we see a Nemo attraction in the parks? I heard a rumor about a Living Seas/Nemo makeover, is that the best bet or do you guys think there might something else in the works?

Well, I don't think a complete rehab of the The Living Seas would be wise. I suppose that there will be a Finding Nemo exibit near by the living seas. sort of like the lion king movie in the land.

I would LURV to see some type of 20K Lagoon rehab to include Finding Nemo. Wouldn't that be cool? I would definitely look forward to that...

but then again, I'm only dreaming

I think the Living Seas can use a huge makeover and Finding Nemo seems like a logical way to go. Since they got rid of the ride the Living seas is aweful and I don't bother even going there anymore. I can go to an aquirium anytime I want. Finding Nemo will bring life back into an attraction/pavillion that is now passed bye, by many.

Don't change the living seas, maybe add something Nemo to it. Personally, I think the best bet would to bring Disney Sea from Tokyo over to Orlando and build a Nemo attraction as part of the Disney Sea.

Intead of bringing Mermain Lagoon to MK, bring "Nemo Reef" ???

Personall, I don't think Nemo belongs in EPCOT, it's a movie, therefore take it to MGM or MK

Nemo ride

I think a hybred coaster/water-ride based on the "East Australian Current -- Swirling Vortex of Terror" from the Nemo movie, is a ride just waiting to happen!!! Perhaps this would suffice to begin the new Australia land in Animal Kingdom (??).

As far as the 20k Leagues location in Fantasy Land, I saw somebody speculate one time on a "bumper boat" ride being placed there. That would be a riot! I recently rode a bumper boat ride where each boat had a water cannon attached, and there were water cannon on the dock that spectators could use to shoot @ the riders. "Brilliant, absolutely brilliant." Maybe this could be themed along the line of the Whale in Pinocchio; that would fit in Fantasy Land.

interesting factoid:

when adjusted for inflation, nemo isnt even in the top 10 animated movies of all time.

In fact, Snow white is number 1

yea use marlin and dory as hosts for the pre show movie. the "rained and rained" movie is old and you can tell it on the film. and then have mabye some of the other characters hosting areas of sea base alpha. idk just a thought

How long will it take for Nemo to get an attraction? How long will it take for the Lion King to get a REAL attraction?

Anyway, I don't think Nemo belongs in the Living seas, but it would be cool if they redid the ride part, and they could have a small space above where you look out the windows into the aquarium where you would see dory and marlin swimming alongside your car, and they would tell you about the various things in the aquarium. I would imagine the movie would be changed, and maybe the exhibits and shorter videos in Sea Base Alpha would feature the characters. And, OF COURSE they will have lots of merchandise.

Suppousedly, Eisner said that the Living Seas was to get a "Nemo Show" that would also be placed in DCA, TDS and WDSP. I don't know how true this is, but it would be nice to see something new added to the living seas, instead of just an overlay of what has been there for all these years.

I think they should add Nemo and friends to the Electrical Water Pageant.

That thing hasn't changed much in 32 years.

The MK is getting a new attraction that will be placed in the old Leagues Under the Sea ride.

In response to the comments that Nemo wouldn't fit in The Living Seas because it's a movie ... I think Nemo would be a perfect fit, some sort of movie that Marlin and Dory talk about sea life and fish, exactly along the lines of the Circle of Life movie in the Land. It is perfect, although not exactly the most thrilling but a good start and then maybe a little ride in there to go along with it. It would be perfect, using a movie about sea life in a pavilion about ... sea life ... it has to fit. Plus, The Living Seas suck now, it needs the boost more than anything.

I hope that The Living Seas does get a makeover to Nemo, it needs it, and also, kids would find LS more fun if they saw the familiar faces of Nemo and Marlin and Dory.

I think the Living Seas is wonderful. The thing is - you have to be interested with the underwater life and oceans. Of course, Nemo would just be sprucing things up. The "movie" part of the Living Seas is currently optional...and really nothing in proportion to the largest manmade 'ocean'...;) Don't forget...there are seabase stations CHOCFULL of information all around the pavilion...as well as small "unsung" mini-attractions. There's a LOT of potential to scatter the cast of 'Nemo' in the pavilion. :)

I think Festival of the Lion King is a great attraction! It's one of the most popular things at AK.

As for Nemo at the TTC... He cannot talk, and this Saturday is his last day at the TTC so I was told when I worked there on Sunday.

God (Eisner) has spoken

Eisner said in a recent interview that there are plans to give the Living Seas a Nemo makeover. The leaked Project Gemini plan for EPCOT says The Living Seas will get a Little Mermaid makeover.

That same plan said "Soaring" will go between The Land and The Living Seas, but we now see it's going between Imagination and The Land. So that plan is not in stone. And Eisner isn't God (he's said a lot of things over the years that haven't materialized).

Grizzly: You really really and i mean really LOVE Epcot! Can't you be even a bit impartial and admit that Living Seas is a horribly dull attraction?? J/K You do know i hope that the Living Seas as it was built is not even close to what the imagineers had initially proposed and even discussed when Epcot opened in 82.

That's what I keep saying Grizz. What a wonderful way to open the sea cabs back up!
