My stand is that the EAC has nothing to do with a showcase of Australian culture. In fact, the EAC fast-thrill-current isn't even REAL. If it would go anywhere, I would say Living Seas. But even then, it can't be educational if it doesn't even exist!

EPCOT can use thrill rides for the purposes of education, sure, but we shouldn't put the thrill mind-cap on, molding the park around thrills.

One. WS is educational while still making it fun, period.

Nemo just isnt educational. The only thing it really teaches us is that when its time to let go, you've got to and when family is in trouble, you go to that member in need.

And the only thing that the E.A.C comes close to in educational perposes is that its a current and it teaches people different surfing terms. Turtles don't ride in the current, there is no fast area in the current.

A roller coaster at EPCOT in the WS, no. Thats about as great of an idea as doing another Drew Carey attraction.

If you want an australia pavillion, build it with the history of Australia, how it was settled, the outback, the aboriginies, the wildlife, events, ect.

And dont have it hosted by Nemo or (although I wouldnt mind), Steve Erwin.

i think it is safe to say that adding a few more thrill rides is not going to shape epcot around them... - but - epcot does need more attractions, maybe a good coaster and then some other creative ideas... i love epcot - and i wish more people visited it... i know a LOT of people who don't even buy tickets to go there... or at least say... why should we... there is nothing to do there...

but now that i think about it... m:s and soarin should help this - but it still doesn't feel right? i LOVE epcot - don't get me wrong - but i also love change... and i think walt did too! (but i totally understand not adding the EAC thing - especially if it isn't real...

I'm a coaster nut as much as anyone (was a member of ACE, traveled around the country and "endured/suffered thru" many Six Flags parks).

So while it's always fun to ride a "coaster", I'd much rather ride a complete sensory attraction that Disney does best, than just a roller coaster.

I'd ride Splash Mountain or Snow White's Adventures over most roller coasters out there. They get to be a dime a dozen after awhile.

CA Screamin over at DCA is a great ride and a better experience than most roller coasters, but when it's all said and done, it's just a roller coaster. Hopefully Expedition Everest will break this mold and give us both the roller coaster excitement, while telling a great story and having greqat visuals to go along with it.

OH - i TOTALLY AGREE - that is why i don't mind seeing coasters added to disney - because i know they will build a great story around it... i don't really view the disney coasters as 'coasters' because they are so much more than six flags ever thought about being, and they aren't a fraction as scary... but disney does them right, and coasters bring in more people...(not that disney needs more people) - but ya know... anyway - - i am a HUGE coaster fan - but i too would take splash mountain anyday over a coaster (or iasw for that matter) -

Agreed. I would rather prefer to have an attraction on the history of Australia and especially the wildlife there.

I can see it now.

Steve: "Now this little fella is the koala. He normally just sits around and can sometimes be as boring as I am. Sometimes he'll start moving around and eating the leaves on the branches and such."

Koala looks at him

"Hey little guy"

Koala attacks him "Not so boring now am I?

Ok, so it wont happen but hey, I can dream cant I.

Yeah but its not like Im going to go to the outback, infect a koala with rabies and hope for the best....

Hm, Im going to Australia for Spring Break so maybe I'll just stop by his rehab center. Have to use a croc though, Koalas kick ______ dunno why really, but they sit around and are lazy, just like me.
