Need suggestions for new SLR camera

Hi all,

Me and my wife are are heading to Disney in a couple weeks and I am looking into getting a Digital SLR camera.. But I cannot decide on a certain brand.. I have a Sony point and shoot, but I want to update my camera.. For those into photography, or that has a SLR that they use at Disney, can you provide suggestions or links.. I would appreicate it. Thanks!

But, for ~$500, you'll probably be limited to either:

Although I think the D40 is a little brain damaged when it comes to autofocus features.

The Canon is a very solid, all around performer.
