You're in the Garden wing. There used to be a North Garden wing, but it was destroyed to make way for BLT.

The rooms are nice and it's quiet. Tower rooms are a lot more expensive and the higher up you go, the higher the price. If you're not happy call your travel agent and ask them to check availability in the tower.

You have nothing to worry about regarding security. Disney is safe.

While your room won't be in the main tower, the walk to the tower isn't as bad as you think. There are resorts with much longer walks to transportation.

As Monty said, the rooms in the Garden building are quiet and secluded. If you stated a budget to your agent, they probably got you in the best room that they could, while keeping you in a Deluxe Resort.

If you think you can afford more (much more), call your agent and have them change your reservation to a tower room, if one is available. Relative to most hotels, there aren't that many rooms in the Contemporary, so the tower COULD have been full when they booked you.

Regardless, rest assured that you're not in the dumps, by any means. It's still a Deluxe Resort, and it's just a short walk to the tower and monorail. :)
