First of all i am not sure if this is in the right spot, if not i am sure soemone can help me.
My name is Heather W. and i have been a member on here for almost a year and i am in love with theme parks. For my High School's english class, each senior gets to pick a topic of their choice and write a 10-15 page paper, then give a 20 minute long presentation. I was wondering if there are any cast members here who could help me with my topic which is theme park safety. I am taking the stand that theme parks are safe because rides are rountinly checked, technology is so advanced that safety features are constantily being updated, and the chances of getting injured are approx 1-10,000. I would like to know how disney checks their rides and possibly interview a few people on this board who work in operations or ride maintence. If you have any more questions you can pm me or leave me a message. If you have any other types of contacts that would be great. Thank you very much for your time.

who is saying amusement parks/ WDW is an unsafe place? seems to me like it could be hard to write 10-15 pages on how WDW is safe, but then again im not a good writer.

Wow! It'd be pretty difficult to spread that out to 15 pages. I think the topic is great though. I would suggest posting a thread in the WDW General Discussion section because more people will see it there and this would be a good topic for people to discuss. Have you thought about putting in something about Disney's evacuation plans they have for each park?

I wish I had some info for you but I don't remember much from my College Program as far as safety goes. I worked at "It's Tough To Be A Bug" at DAK... not a whole lot of safety issues there.

Do us a favor and post your paper once you're done... or at least a synopsis of it. I'd be interested in seeing how it comes out. Best of luck!

speaking of an evacuation plan, I am reading "mousecatraz" and it said on 9/11 they evacuated the parks for the day, not really sure about much else but that could be something to write about.

thanks everyone for commenting. i have read mousecatraz and i have found some various websites that have shown differnent safety techniques for some of the major parks.

once i start writing the paper and have completed it, i will be sure to post the results.

THanks again.
