Here is the skinny......I need a decent universal remote without breaking the bank. I am looking to try and stay in the $50 range. I also need to avoid programmable touch screens. I love them but the rest of the people in my family won't use them for some odd reason.
Here is my current set up and what I need the remote to control...
Direct TV HD receiver with DVR. There is no brand name on the model I have but if I am not mistaken the model number is HR-22. I need the remote to fully control this item. I must be able at access DVR features, guides, menus.... pretty much the whole shooting match.
SONY 7.1-Channel Home Theater A/V Receiver STR-DN1000 For the most part the only things I need for the remote to control on this is the volume and input switching. Full control would be nice but not essential.
Toshiba A-100 HD/DVD player soon to be replaced with Sonly Blu-ray player I just need the menu navigation to work as well as power on and off.
Xbox 360 and Wii I don't need the remote to be able to do anything with these. On and off control would be nice but it is not really needed.
36" Sony 1080i CRT TV Need on and off control only.
Lastly I would like the remote controls volume control to go to the A/V receiver only regardless of what mode it is in.
Please help as I have been looking over these things for a couple of weeks now and I think my brain is beginning to melt just a little bit.
