Need Romantic Ideas....

Although this is not related to Honeymoon/Wedding, I figured this would be the best thread to post in :) My boyfriend and I will be going to Disney World at the end of August for 6 nights. We are staying at the Pop Century for the first 3 nights, then the last 3 nights at The Boardwalk. The Boardwalk is one of my favorite resorts and I know he is going to love it. He has only been to Disney World once when he was really little, so this is going to be an exciting and new adventure for him. I figured the first 3 days we are there, we can just do fun stuff like rides, etc. But the last 3 nights I would like to be very romantic, relaxing, and extra special. If anyone has ideas as far as things to do at The Boardwalk or at other resorts/parks, let me know what some of your favorites are. Also, if you could pick one really nice restaurant to have dinner at, which would you pick? Most importantly, I want us to enjoy a very romantic and special dinner. Thank you! :)

One Little Spark...
A ride on Characters in Flight, the hot air balloon at DTD.

La Nouba.

Renting a boat and cruising the Sassagoula River either from DTD to Port Orleans, or vice versa.

The fireworks cruise.

Doing the Segway tour of World Showcase.

Doing any of the other tours, as suits your interests...though the Safari Trek at Animal Kingdom looks especially good.

Fireworks Dessert Party from Tomorrowland Terrace.

There are two types of Fireworks Cruise at Disney...both allow you to see Wishes.

1) Pirates and Pals

This tour allows you to see the Electrical Parade on the Seven Seas Lagoon as well (as I recall...and yes, there is an electrical parade on the lagoon that goes on the same time as the Main Street Electrical Parade, and is not to be missed...at least try and catch a glimpse of it, it's fun!)

The cost is $31 per child and $60 per adult, and includes snacks and beverages (non-alcoholic). Information can be found here:

2) Chartered Specialty Cruises

Disney allows several operators to run chartered yacht cruises on the Seven Seas Lagoon after dark. Otherwise, no other boat traffic is allowed on the lagoon or neighboring Bay Lake after dark.

Costs and details vary, but here's where you can get some general information:

The fireworks cruise or desert party. Popping over to one of the resorts with a beach and strolling at night during fireworks or the best option a bottle of wine and bubble bath for 2

We did the carriage ride through Fort Wilderness and it was quite romantic - it was $45 for a half an hour ride. As for restaurants in the Boardwalk area, I would recommend The Yachtsman (Steakhouse in the Yacht Club resort) or the Flying Fish (seafood on the Boardwalk). Both were excellent meals for us.

Have drinks in the lobby in the early evening at Grand Floridian. (You can order them from the bar in Citricos.) Listen to the live band, people-watch, and feel oh-so-classy :)

Also, since it's just the two of you and you're staying right next to Epcot, have a few drinks around the world. Don't miss La Cava Del Tequila in Mexico (the tequila cave), the wine cellar in Italy, and end the night at Rose and Crown Pub for the most fun. If that doesn't make you feel 'romantic,' nothing will! ;)

Yes! Actually you can also order those drinks at Mizner's Lounge. That's what my sister and I did a couple trips back, ordered a Cosmo then listened to the jazz band playing popular Disney tunes. It was magically classy and we had fun trying to beat each other identifying the tune. So, I'd say start there but be sure to book a dinner at Narcoossee's at GF for that romantic dinner. It's in the back there, right on the water...beautiful views and setting. One of my favorite signature meals.

"Name that tune"- so fun! BUT, Mizner's is closed now due to the GF/DVC construction. It's being used as the 'grab-and-go' location until everything is finished. I haven't eaten at Narcoossee's, but we did eat in the lounge area of Citrico's, and it was delicious!

Aw snap! That's right, I read that Mizner's was closed...bummer! They really need to speed up this GF/DVC project, it's cramping my style. Plus, I can't wait to stay in a GFV!! I loved the views at Narcoossee's, amazing calamari appetizer and a fabulous Surf and Turf entree...can't beat all that!!
