Last week, my Microsoft Windows Paint program crashed, and I have been unable to reinstall. I tried all the re-installation steps I could find, and have been unable to re-install it at all! For example, I clicked Setting--> Control Panel---> Add/Remove Programs---> Add/Remove Programs Properties---> Windows Setup---> Accessories , which leads me to the panel with the list of Accesories, one of them is Paint (which is unchecked). I place the check in the box to re-install, then click OK, then Apply. I then get a pop-up reading

"This file mspaint.cnt was not found.

Windows needs the disk labeled 'Windows Millenium Edition' to continue. This disk may be provided by your computer or device manufacturer."

I then try the process all over again with the CD reading "Operating System For the Reinstallation of Windows Me", which is the closest thing I could find in the CD-ROM disks that came with my computer. However, I get the same message again seen above.

Does anyone know how I can possibly re-install Paint onto my computer successfully? Most of my artwork I have that has been see here was created with Microsoft Paint, and I really need to have this back!

Any help is greatly appreciated! :)

You really do need that Millennium CD. If you can't find it, contact Microsoft. I wouldn't want to tell you to do something that could seriously damege your compy.
