Hello All,
My family and I are going in June for our trip. On the morning that AK opens early, I wanted to plan a breakfast for that day. I was deciding between Boma at AK Lodge, or the Character Breakfast in Africa (Name has slipped my mind). For Boma, it'd be about a 7:30 breakfast.

I have never been to either, so I'd like to hear from you all on opinions of both places.

Also, if i were to go to Boma, how would I get there? Which was is easiest? Disney Trans. or Cab?

All Help Is Appreciated

Tusker House is the character dining place inside AK. I have never been there, my daughter and grandkids have and they don't bring it up as a place they want to eat it at like they do Ohana or 1900 Park Fare or Chef Mickey. I love Boma for any meal. Excellent service and the food is good and the soups excellent.
From any resort to get to AKL I would either take the bus to AK and then transfer buses to the lodge or I would cab. I have never done the cab over to AKL. The bus trip from your resort to AK and then AK to AKL in the morning I would think would be about an hour travel time. Better check and make sure the buses are running at 6:30 am. I am never up and moving that early when I am on property, lol.

I'd recommend Boma over Tusker House, since my decisions are always based on food quality, with an emphasis on trying things I can't get at home! :) If the characters are important to you and you'd rather have a more Americanized menu, then by all means go to Tusker House.

As for getting there, it would help to know where you're staying, but I think @jlsHouston is right: if the buses are running that early (particularly FROM AK to AKL), use WDW transportation. If there's any question that they won't be, save yourself some anxiety (not to mention time) and take a cab.

Ive eaten at Boma breakfast - and I didn't really think it was anything to write home about. My husband enjoyed it because he is an adventurous eater - but I'm not.

I'd just go to Tusker House - it will be easier to just walk out of breakfast and be in Animal Kingdom - rather than have to deal with other transportation.

Either way - you've got decent buffet food...a few different options at Boma and characters at Tusker House. So do whatever is more important to you!

Have fun!

Actually since the OP is doing breakfast and not lunch or dinner I would probably do it this way too since it is so early in the morning. I love BOMA more for lunch or dinner because those are the meals you really see the different entrees and sides..

Boma was awesome...But if you are worried about transportation I would suggest Tusker House. Get the earliest reservation. (buses run early on 20 min intervals to AK) and you can get in eat and be done just as the park is opening for the day. Which makes it easy to get right on the safari ride or Everest. We went to Boma for Dinner after a day of AK our last trip. Each are Buffet. If you opt for Boma for breakfast you can bus over to AK then switch buses to go to AK Lodge. Also if you go to Boma...explore the grounds and make sure you check out the overlook to the safari and the lower level lookout to the safari near the guest pools/playground. Oh and with Boma have a Zebra Dome or four of them for me. Tusker House would be my Breakfast choice. Save Boma for lunch or Dinner.

Other notable options in AK are Flame Tree BBQ (Ribs are great and it's a quick service).
Get a seat behind the building you order from back by the water overlooking Everest. It's peaceful and has it's own section for ketchup, BBQ sauce, napkins, plasticware. So no need to carry that stuff as far.

Yak & Yeti has great atmosphere and really good selection of foods for Dinner as well.

The ribs are great, and Flame Tree has quite possibly the best baked beans I've ever eaten. Just watch out for the ducks-they have no fear and are absolutely shameless.
