Has anyone rented from National recently? Do they rent Ford Focuses (Ford Foci?) for their economy models through MCO? I usually prefer them, but I am probably goig to be renting an economy this trip. I am a large guy and I have problems with the Hyundais, Kias, and Neons that some companys rent out in that class.

National tends to stick with GM products. Enjoy your Chevy Aveo/Cobalt

Thanks. I know a lot of their smaller locations have a good selection - shich is one reason I like them - they have the car choice program where you basically go out in the lot and choose which car you want (in that class, of course). But Orlando has a huge enough turn over that I would imagine they can be pretty consistent with their offerings.

In case anyone else is interested...

National in Orlando is pretty much all GM product, pretty much the prototypical choices. Compacts were Cavaliers, Cobalts, and Sunfires, the intermediates were Malibus if you are regular, some G6s if you were Emerald. Or, as in my case, they were out of cars in the line amd you asked if you could take one the G6's. Most of their other locations are pretty varied in their selection, not here. Although the Minivans looked like they had a few more choices available.

Oh, one other great thing with National - with a copy of your itinerary, you can use a debit card for the rental. And, they did not pre-auth a large amount on it, either!

Didn't know they were on the 1st - seems most of the rentals are on the second. I know they were there a few year ago - last time I rented thorugh them.

They are usually a little more expensive than their counterparts (including Alamo, which is technically the same thing), but I like the fact that you can choose what car you drive. This of course is better at some of the smaller locations where they usually have a better selection available.
