Actually, they once sold CM-styled name tags in several areas of WDW.

You would choose your name tag choice & they engrave your name on it.

Here are some of those name tags:

However, they stopped producing them some 3-4 years ago.

I would also say go to Guest Relations & get a button with your daughter's name written on it. It seems to be that's what they do now...

Ebay has them if you are extremely lucky.
We found two for my son with his name, AND THE TOWN we live in. How lucky is that.
I check it every once in a while for my hubby and mine name. You never know.

Guest name tags appear to have been discontinued at WDW. I bought one for myself and one for my son a number of years ago and we're constantly being asked where we got them. It's a pity they don't sell them anymore, I love having it.

The eBay suggestion is probably your best bet.

I'm so mad I never picked up that Figment one. I wanted it but just put it off and then one day it was gone. :(

I bought mine in 2005 or 2006 at, I think, World of Disney. Then we took it over to Disney's Days of Christmas where they engraved our names for free. It's a gold colored one.

Here is a place that still lists some for sale, though I would email them first to see if they are still in stock... http://www.yourwdwstore.net/search.asp?keyword=badge

(I purchased a good number of my WDW Guest nametags from them, other than that I have no connection to them)

I havent seen any new ones from WDW since 2007. Disneyland still makes new ones, I found 2 new vareties there when I was in town for the D23 Expo.

I remember when we bought them for our girls ~5 years ago. The oldest was about 15, the youngest 12, and we started letting them explore the parks on their own. When wearing their tags and not hanging with us, they would come back with amazing stories of people asking them for help and commenting how nice it was for Disney to employ such young people. They were kind enough to explain they weren't CMs and tried to help as best they could with the clueless but some people just thought they were being funny. To me, it's so obvious they're not even close to what an employee wears. But I wonder if that's part of the reason they stopped selling them?

I used to have one, but it got lost when I moved. I'm so annoyed with myself for not holding on to it.

These were great souvenirs, and I'll never understand why they stopped selling them. Maybe they'll bring them back one day. Were people really mistaking guests wearing them for actual CM's?

That is the reason I have seen for them to no longer sell them. I think it was more to the opposite situation that you described. Little children coming up to adults wearing them instead of real CM's.

I could virtually guarantee they stopped selling them due to guest confusion (with your reason being a large contributing factor). Guests may potentially have been able to pose as CMs, which could potentially open up the company to liability. There are so many reasons for the discontinuation, but I would imagine guest cons=fusion to be the biggest.
