MYW Ticket-Room Reservation Relationship Question

The background: United has screwed with my flights yet again. We were due to leave WDW on a 5:30pm flight, arriving Sacramento at a reasonable 10pm. Now they have us leaving on a 7:25pm flight, arriving Sacramento at about midnight. While that might like a good thing (extra WDW hours:sohappy: ) to many folks, since I am travelling alone with a 7 year old who will be on East Coast time after a 9 day stay, and I'll have to fight our way out to long-term parking once we make it to Sacramento, this is a bad turn of events in my book :hammer:

Since United is to some degree at my mercy - they are frequent flyer tickets and since they cancelled my originally booked flight they pretty much have to agree to any date/flight changes I demand where there are seats available - I'm considering leaving a day later, and taking a 2pm-ish flight. This would allow us the time we planned on in WDW but doesn't have me managing an impossibly cranky 7 year old on the plane

So finally, the question: Since we are on free dining, I can't extend our original reservation so I'm thinking I'll make a room-only reservation for that extra night. But I'd still like to slip into the park that extra morning for a couple of hours before we leave. If I add another day onto our park tickets of our first MYW reservation (make it an 9 day ticket instead of an 8 day), can we use that to get into a park on that last day, or is that room key completely voided once the last day of the reservation is over and we are onto the room-only reservation?

That ticket will still be good as long as it has days on it and it is within 14 days (which it will be). You will be fine going through the plan as you described.
