Does anybody here still use Internet Explorer? I just had some interesting conversations with Disney IT about the MyDisneyExperience website not working properly.
First, it deleted my DVC annual passes a day early and I was unable to renew them online because of that. Disney IT told me that for some reason the online experience is removing passes 24hrs early. With me on the phone they figured out the my passes were set to expire at midnight on 9/16 and the system removed them 12:01AM on 9/16 so I was told they would "look into changing that".
Also, I have 5 DVC rooms spread across 3 resorts for the first week in December. EVERY DAY, there are 5 entries on the online itinerary telling us all to check-out by 11:00am. I asked about that and they told me the system was set up to give guests a reminder just in case they wanted to check out early...HA!
My third question was about the order of things on the itinerary. They said they set up the itinerary order in categories...so you will never be able to scroll through the online itinerary and see everything in time order. For instance...I have dinner one night at 5:05pm, but I added in an "entertainment" for 4pm. Entertainment is set to show up below Dining (alpha) so I scroll through and see dinner first and THEN my entertainment plans....Odd.
At this point, the woman I spoke to this morning got a little snippy with my questioning and asked me why I was bothering to click on the itinerary because all of my plans could be seen on the main MyExperience page and it would all be in order. OK, but the main page doesn't show Entertainment at all (which I pointed out to her) and then I basically made her admit that the Itinerary link doesn't work.
Next issue I was having with the itinerary is that I would click for the next day and the date at the top of the page would change, but none of the plans below would. Every day of my vacation showed my reservations for only the first day...not helpful. NOW she asks me what browser I was using and when I told her EI9 she actually laughed and told me I was the only one she knew that used that and that Disney websites are "not designed to work well with EI". She told me if I wanted to view and use the MyDisneyExperience website the way it was designed, then I would need to download a different browser that wasn't so old and she suggested FireFox. She also quickly suggested that I send a letter to Disney and tell them about my IT concerns, but that I shouldn't expect her or anybody else at Disney to change their design to accomodate people who chose to use antiquated software.
P.S. Off my own topic, but...when I called DVC and renewed my APs, they were courteous and helpful and full of knowledge. I was told MM+ wouldn't roll out until first quarter next year and that I would be required to have a magicband in order to take advantage of fastpass+. A card would be available, but it was her understanding that the card would not allow use of fastpass+. with the AP I would be able to make fastpass+ plans online 365 days of the year, but not get into the park or into the fastpass+ line without my "ticket" and she told me the "ticket" is the magicband. This might apply only to APs...not sure.
