My trip Sept 17-25

Just got back from our trip..Had to leave at 7am on 25th iso 7 pm, as the Orlando airport was closing at 5 pm!!(No one at AKL told us--we found out from the news station at midnight on 24th!!!) Our week was wonderful with only 1 hour of rain on Mon.20th. We walked on all the biggies with no lines (Test Track, the mountains, safari) Even walked on all at Universal on Wed. Our only lines were the usual--Dumbo (30 min.) Peter Pan (40 min.!!) and Pooh.
We were upgraded from a std view at AKL to a Deluxe Savannah view room at no charge (this is the 2nd time that happened--I think it's b/c I request a smoking room) A beautiful view. A little bummed at the housekeeping staff--they used to do cool things with my kids stuffed animals (i.e. hanging them on a hammock, putting them under covers) and they used to make animals out of washclothes--none of that this time. Otherwise a fab vacation!!

You are absolutley right about the lines! We were there from the 16th until yesterday. We actually had to fly out of Tampa last night.

I am going to write a detailed trip report later..... but it was great!

We were also there the 18th thru the 25th. The weather was awesome, not too hot and it was breezy. I could not believe the panic about the hurricane. People at POR's giftshop on Saturday morning were absolutly loopy about rushing to get out of there. We would not have left on Saturday, but were expecting a worse than normal drive back on I-10 to get around Escambia Bay in Pensacola with the bridge washed out. BTW, I have not expressed this on the boards yet, but POR is no longer on my list to stay at after 10 visits. They dropped the ball so many times it was ridiculous. IF I go back, I will not stay there. I will spring for a little bit more and go back to WL.
