Trip Report My Trip Rant

While at WDW I always have complaints even though I still have a great time. These are some of the complaints I have.

First, while watching the FotLK, I heard an announcement saying that flash photography is allowed during the show. This was really annoying since the show is mostly dark and it always brought my attention away from the show. Not to mention that it must bother the performers as well.

Another thing I noticed was the abundance of show buildings that are visible in the park. Im not sure if its because I've become more observant or not but I was able to see show buildings in many different places including between Norway and China, the New Fantasyland buildings on the train, the Main Street buildings on either sides and many other places as well.

Smoking is one of the things that bugs me as well since guests will smoke wherever they want and will rarely get stopped by the park employees. It seems to be one of the few things that the park doesn't enforce.

Lastly, the security guards. Most of the security guards barely check the bags and seem to not care about their job. There was only one instance of a guard actually checking the bags and he found a fire starter in the bag. This shows that something is bound to happen in the parks if the security guards don't step their game up and I hope they do fix this.

Thanks for reading my rant. I feel better after getting that out of my system. :)

I agree with your first two rants, however I don't think it's fair to lump all the security guards together. I was just there last week for a week, and everyday I've had very thorough guards look through all of my bags.

Maybe I just had bad luck with the guards. Whenever I would give my bag, they would do a quick glance in the bag and give it back even though there were more pockets the hadn't checked. Not that I had anything to hide though.

Bag checks are security theater anyway. Anyone determined to do something will find a way to regardless of a quick look in a bag.

I actually found the bag checks to be lengthier and more thorough than in prior trips. I still didn't feel any safer, because it doesn't take a bag/stroller/backpack/whatever to bring something in. It could be worse, the security folks that they bring in at Universal's Halloween Horror Nights are.....well, I want to continue using this site so I won't tell you what I really think of them.
