I just returned from a day at the Magic Kingdom and a day at Blizzard Beach while on our Florida vacation. Here is my trip summary
We went on a Wednesday and it was not near as crowded as I would have guessed for summer time. Fast Pass is the greatest thing to hit the Magic Kingdom since Splash Mtn. We got there at opening and went straight to splash mtn and rode with about 2 minutes wait. then got a fastpass for thunder mountain, waited about 30 minutes for our time and got on with another 2 minute wait. the park filled up some but we pretty much rode the fast pass rides(that we dont get to ride when our kids are with us) and the longest we waited all day was about 10 minutes in a line. We ate lunch at the El Pirata and dinner at the Columbia Harbor house. not fancy but good food and no wait. Space mtn had a 2 hour later return time so we rode the Railroad and had a snack and then a short wait in the fast pass line and we were on. Saw Capt Hook, Shmi, in adventure land, Robin Hood and Rafiki in the back of liberty Square, Mickey and Pluto behind Sleepy Hollow with no one around but a couple kids. (of course my sons were not there for that part) Tweedle Dee and Dumb as usual and the Genie and Jazmin riding the new aladdin ride which was short but fun. We rode the steam ship out of liberty square (that is a nice relaxing break) and went out to Toms island which is another favorite hiding spot.
Every thing was open except the ice cream shop on main St (looks like they are doing work to the outside front of the building also and the construction where the old alley next to the emporium was still underway. Time keeper closed (wonder what will fill that building?) Keel boat buildings still untouched. the fantasy land sky bucket station is still untouched and saw pinnocio and jeppeto doing pictures up there. the tomorrow land bucket station is still there with is restrooms below but something needs to be done with that.
s far as my Magic Kingdom model is coming, I returned with almost 800 pictures of the park in addition to the roughly 1000
have saved on a CD from the internet. Now the serious blueprint drawings begin. should have those done in a month or 2.
