So as you may know, I am a HUGE Thor and Loki fan and I've been waiting all year for this movie, and I finally got to see it last night for the first showing with one of my friends. We had so much fun and we were squealing during all of the Loki scenes.

Anyways, the movie was AMAZING! if you are a Thor fan, this is a great movie for you to see. It is dramatic, suspenseful, sad, action-packed, and very very funny! There are a bunch of surprises that shocked me in the movie.

Tom Hiddleston as Loki in this movie was amazing as always. Almost everything he said was sassy and smart-alecy. He really shows his mischievous side, using his magical tricks. He also grabs your attention in the dramatic scenes.

The movie was full of comedy! I was laughing the whole time.

I seriously recommend seeing this movie! And if you do, be sure to watch out for two special cameos and two after credit scenes.

I LOVE LOKI!!!!!!!!!

Hey Ally! I saw the movie last night too! I went to my very first marathon. Imagine over six hours of Loki on the big screen. It was amazing.

I think I still like Thor 1 over Thor 2 because the story was a little more streamlined and contained. There was a lot to process in the new storyline. But everything in the film was great and fun. Tom looked like he was really having a blast as Loki (my favorite)...He definitely brought his A game. And I can't imagine anyone else as Thor than Hemsworth.

I saw Thor: The Dark World earlier today thanks in part to a cancellation of class from my professor....

Anyway, I really enjoyed it. I did enjoy the fight sequences, graphics and I do agree that it was more hilarious than the first. But yeah, I think I prefer the first one simply because the story was better and I did feel that the amount of exposition was a bit too much in the second one. But yeah, I think the rivalry between Thor and Loki really made the film stand out.

In terms of the films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, aside from the Avengers, I'm definitely more of an Iron Man guy. Don't get me wrong, I love the Thor films overall, but I prefer the Iron Man films because of the better writing, storylines and characters. Anyway, it's an agonizing wait until Captain America: The Winter Soldier for me.....

Exposition is the key word. There was a lot if stuff to explain in this movie! lol

I also can't wait for Captain America. Did you like his cameo? Everyone was laughing so hard, I didn't hear a single line he said, lol.

I really liked the movie. Only thing that bugged me was how much they changed Asgard from the first film. Though without seeing them back to back I don't know if they legitimately changed it or if I am just seeing more of it.

It used to have a more futuristic look, and in this movie its more classical ruins and natural with a few shiny things.

It didn't bother me so much. I know they wanted to go more classical because that was one of the 'gripes' from the first film. They went for a more alien approach the first time around and people wanted something more Norse. So the new director fixed it. I think they still did a good job keeping the overall layout of the first film while still showing some classical elements.

We definitely got to see more Asgard this time around and I liked that a lot. It's like the outside is still modern/alien, but when you go deeper into the city you see more of a ancient base. As if the modern stuff was built over it giving a good combination of both aesthetics.

My review...

Bang bang with a few chuckles. Not sure it could keep your attention if it were on tv.

Fun as a super hero flick... But the movie spent far more on the cgi than on the writing. Plays like a comic book... And if that is what you need - it scores

Who are these crazy people? :P

The look of Asgard in the first film is what made it unique. Of course you expect it to be classical, but that isn't what you have to do. Change it up, get creative.

Oh I agree. I liked the design of the first Thor too. I liked how everything seemed to be gold and metal and all that. Like the sitting room the warriors Three were in. The setting was really different and interesting. I don't hate the new look at all. I would have to see it again and actually focus on the set design to see what all is different/changed. But yea, they go back to a more old fashioned 'Game of Throwns' setting for Asgard this time around.

But as I said, they still kept some of the more futuristic elements. It was good to see the Bifrost back. and I liked the floating Skiffs in the water. Asgard is now probably one of my favorite sci fi movie destinations.
