On our recent trip we used our Magic Bands and didn't have an issue. However, I was thinking that if they are going to replace the FP ticket it would eliminate the problem with the Tour groups that has one person getting all the fastpasses for their group.

It would just be a person digitally acquiring the FastPass+ selections. If set up properly it can be a faster process for that person.

What will happen is that not the whole group will have the same FP+ times or even the same ride. Here in Brazil the agencies selling the "Disney Packages" will fill a tourist group up to a week before the scheduled departure day. Those last comers will certainly not have as many options as the ones who booked four or three months before hand (the usual time the usual family books a trip to Disney with a group) and might end up without FP+ to the biggest attractions like Soarin' or TT or even TSMM

I see two possible scenarios happening with Tour Groups:

1) standby lines for the headlines will be even bigger during TG months, a 100 minute wait at Soarin' will become a 180 minute wait. When offsite guest can book same day FP+, the kiosks will be overrun with guests (more TG stay offsite than onsite) and same day availability will be gone in the first 10 minutes.

2) FP+ will have less appeal to some of these groups since they can't all ride together, making FP+ lines not as crowded during TG months.
