My summer package keeps changing - different offers

I originally booked out 9-night June trip in Dec at full price, hoping they would eventually offer something for the summer. Within a few days, they offered a free quick service meal. Hey, better than nothing. I called and got my package updated.

I just saw a commercial offering a room discount package for the same dates. Doing the math, it boils down to $11.70 per person per day cheaper than my current package. Of course, I would have to give up the free quick service meal. The question is do we expect to spend $11.70 for lunch every day? It's probably a wash.

The other thing to consider is the parking fee, which I assume would be added if I modified my package.

In my 10 previous trips, I've never had to worry about changing my package after booking.

How many in your party? As in will everyone eat an adult QS lunch.......?

But you're right about the parking fee, I think people are being told that a package modification is a rebooking. In that case, you might be better sticking to what you have. If you do phone, check that first.

I suggest you call and get them to quote, just in case the saving is more than you think. The reason I say that is that generally I believe the room discount is a better deal, but your savings don't seem like a lot. Any extra savings might offset the parking fee.

If the room discount and free QS meal plan is close to being a wash, then go for the meal plan. I think the conveniance of that is a big plus. Also it is quite easy to exceed 11.70 on a meal at WDW

Call Disney about losing your free parking if you change your package. Since your original reservation predates it, I think you should be ok but call to be sure

I rebooked a room only reservation when the discounts came out, but contacted Disney to ask if I would lose the free parking by doing this. I was told they go by the original booking date so you should be ok parking wise as long as it was booked by their deadline for charging.
