My Pre-Trip Report: Going back to my happy place!

Hi everyone! I've been lurking around WDWMagic for a while now, mostly to live vicariously through all of you Disney World regulars and your fabulous trip reports. My boyfriend and I are headed to Disneyland next week, so I thought I'd take a stab at a trip report! I'm not planning on bringing my bulky Nikon camera with me this time around, so you'll have to settle for iPhone and small digital camera photos. Sorry!

Now for those interested, let me share a little bit about us and how the trip came about!

Who: Adrienne (me!), Disney fanatic and been to DLR more times than I can remember; Brian (the boyfriend), indulges in my Disney craziness (including allowing me to drag him to see Frozen) and has his own love and appreciation for all things Disney (though sitting through a musical is a somewhat painful experience for him, lol)

That's us! Taken during our last Disneyland trip, Halloween 2012.

Brian and I started dating in March of 2012 and within 8 months we went to Disneyland twice! That's how I knew he was a keeper! We live in the Bay Area, in Wine Country, about an hour north of San Francisco. He's a third grade teacher and I'm a federal employee. With Brian being a teacher, he gets Spring Break! And that's the perfect excuse for me to take time off work and head down to Disneyland!

When: 3/18-3/21
How: We'll be driving! It's about a 7 hour drive down to Anaheim.
Where: Staying at the Carousel Inn and Suites, right across the street. One of my preferred hotels to stay at. It can be a little on the pricey side, but the beds are super comfy and you can't beat the easy walk!

Since we won't be arriving in Anaheim until later in the evening, our first day in the park will be 3/19. Since we're not newbies, we're not worried about the larger Spring Break crowds or trying to fit everything in. We've found in our last couple of trips that we really enjoy slowing ourselves down and just soaking in the magic of Disney. Our main goal this trip is to take our time to notice the small things! We'll have 2-Day Park Hoppers, so it'll be a short and sweet trip!

Besides taking our time, we hope to finally get on BTMRR and ride RSR at night! We realized the other day that we haven't been on the Jungle Cruise together, so we'll try to fit that in as well. Other than a dinner reservation at Wine Country Trattoria one night, we'll be flying by the seat of our pants for all other meals!

I'm sure our trip will go by way too quickly! On 3/21, we'll head back up north to Brentwood to celebrate Brian's birthday at the Stockton Dirt Track for the World of Outlaws Spring Car races. (That's our trade off, he's learned to love Disney and I've learned to love all things racing...including NASCAR which I never thought would happen!)

I can't wait to walk through those gates and into my happy place! Thanks for reading along!

I like wine country trattoria. The portions are a bit small so you'll definately want to do appetizers and dessert. World of Color package is a nice plus too. We're going in may and got southwest tickets for $69. each way from oakland. Oh and we're from hayward, just don't hold it against us lol. I race motorcycles out at stockton fairgrounds track. Small world. No pun intended. Have fun and keep us informed.

Thanks for the Wine Country Trattoria tips! I haven't eaten there since California Adventure first opened up and the park still had the Electrical Street Parade! So quite some time ago!

Sounds like you got a great deal on airplane tickets! I'm not a great fan of flying, so I'm happy to drive to destinations when it's feasible. And I won't hold it against you taht you're from Hayward. ;)

Never been to motorcycle races! Sounds fun though! My boyfriend used to race stock cars out at the Antioch Speedway, but that was long before I met him. Dirt track racing is his passion, so we're out at Antioch often during race season. This will be our first visit to the Stockton track. Looking forward to it!
