My Main Gate Pass Didn't Come This Year

Here's a little background.

I worked for Disney as an employee of abc radio stations. But as you may know, Disney sold the abc radio stations a couple of years ago. When that happened, I had been with abc radio for over 15 years, so for the past two years, I was happy to receive a Blue Main Gate Pass.

However, this year, I didn't receive one. I called the Main Gate Pass Office in Florida, but the woman there said the records show I had been "terminated." (I hate that word)

I figured that I was getting a pass each year because I had been with the company for over 15 years before being "terminated."

She gave me a number in the retirement office, I guess because there was no place else to direct me but I can't get anyone to answer the phone there.

Any help would be appreciated. I sure miss that pass.:veryconfu

It all depends on what the outline for the "termination" agreement was once they sold the radio stations. When I worked at the Disney store we were given exact outlines as to what we would still receive from Disney, what was being immediately eliminated, and what we would still get for a limited time. I would check with that retirement office or see if there is possibly a corporate relations office to see what certain employees still get after the sale of the stations. n

Thanks for that response. When we were spun off, we didn't hear anything about anything. At the end of that year, only a few of us got a main gate pass. We'd all been with the company for quite a while. We were not expecting it at all. I thought maybe it was a mistake. Then I got another one the next year and figured that would continue in perpetuity. But I'll keep digging into it until a find the answer. :shrug:
