My Ideas for Epcot's 25th

As everyone knows, Epcot's 25th is coming up on October 1st, 2007. I just thought of some great ideas to improve the parks for the celebration, and wanted to know what you guys thing. Here they are:

Entrance and Spaceship Earth:
The Entrance and Spaceship Earth will have a large overhaul. First of all, the fountain out front will once again be adorned by a glass prism. The prism will be very similar to the previous one, if not exactly the same. It will have lights in the base, so it can change colors.

Also, to match the glass prism, all of the Leave a Legacy blocks will be replaced by identical blocks, only glass. These new glass blocks will have the Leave A Legacy tiles on them, just as before. They will also have lights under the glass, to make it change colors.

Inevitably, the wand will come down. The geodesic dome knwon as Spaceship Earth will shien with its former glory, devoid of the wand and text.

The next addition to Spaceship Earth is one of my favorites. A projection system will be set up all around the globe, that will play moving video, and not just static images. After IllumiNations, the projectors will spring to life, playing the same video seen on the Globe Barge in Reflections of Earth, along with the RoE audio.

Fountain and Innoventiosn Plaza:
The Foutnain will be slightely refurbished. The fountain itself will remain virtually intact, but colored lights will be added to the top, and on the "steps" that go down on the side, to light up the water after dark. The fountaisn will also dance to the music and video projected onto Spaceship Earth.

IllumiNations:
IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth will be replaced by a brand new fireworks show. The show will feature fountains similar to those used in DisneySea Symphony and BraviSEAmo! in Tokyo DisneySeas. The music for the show will be composed by a collaborative effort of Gavin Greenaway, Gregory Smith, and Bruce Broughton, who are my favorite composers. The pyrotechnic design will be done by Eric Tucker, and the show will be directed by Don Dorsey. Yes, I realize that most of these people also did RoE. I wanted them to also do the new one, because they did such an amazing job, and I'm confident they'd be able to do it again. Adding the talents of Gregory Smth and Bruce croughton to the mix will most likely imrpove the show's quality.

The fountain at Innoventions Plaza already has colored lights on the top. The steps however do not.

DO NOT REMOVE ILLUMINATIONS: ROE! That show is too good to go! That sounds like something Eisner would do!

Also, I believe the Leave A Legacy blocks will not be changed (and should not) I don't think that metal sheets would look good on clear glass. It would just look strange. They look best on the rock. I think it looks very good as it does.

They have colored lights? I've never seen them...

And IllumiNations HAS to change sometime... And don't think I want it changed because I don't like it. I LOVE IllumiNations: RoE, and always have. But liek I said, it has to eventually.

Yup colored lights...I remember. I was just there in February! I might have a picture of them while they are being colored, but I'm not for sure.

Step above

I agree with the concepts you have.

1. For leave a legacy, I actually would take it in a slightly different direction. Instead of replacing them with glass, I would add acrylic sheets coming out in triangular shapes that change color. I would also add a small waterfall spilling down each one that creates a stream that leads to the fountain. I would re-make the central statue to be stones at the base like the leave a legacy stones and the three pillars rising out of that.

2. I would restore the use of the logos, especially the EPCOT logo itself. Put a silver (for the 25) applique of the logo in front of each pavilion and a large 3-D WS logo at the entryway (where the tree goes at holiday time).

3. I like the idea of adding color to the steps of the fountain. However, I would suggest use of the fiberoptic lights instead.

4. Leave ROE the way it is. Add a new segment or something, perhaps, but the show is just too darn good (and the design money could go elsewhere!)

I really think Epcot needs something huge. I personally would love to see Innoventions get consolidated into one house (East), move the main Innov restaurants into one house (Pasta Piazza, FountainView, and ICE station Cool), and a brand new version of Horizons (that could be updated scene-by-scene as needed) go into Innov. West. Innov. is just a bit hodge-podgy now and needs to be brightened up and the whole plaza needs something more.

I think the need to go ahead and rip out wonders and put something in their. I can't stand to watch it sit their.

As for the ideas that you mentioned. Keep RoE, and do everything else you said.
