Hello all, I have decided to think up my own resort, much like others on this board. I have done many others in the past but this is the first time(I belive) that I am posting one.

I need suggestions on where to place this park. I would like it to be in the USA or someplace friendly to it.

Heres the first press release:
Disney begins new resort
The Walt Disney Company has began construction on a new Disneyland Resort in the area of ______. The first phase of this resort will include the Disneyland theme park and three Disney resorts all connected by monorail.

The first park will be a regular Disneyland park(Similar to those in Anahiem, Tokyo, Paris and Magic Kingdom in Orlando). The park will be broke down into six magically themed lands containing glorious attractions and wonderfull dinning. The following is a breakdown of the lands:

Main Street U.S.A
When you first enter the Disneyland Park you will enter through a town that was much like the one Walt Disney himself grew up in during the early 1900's. Here you may sit back and enjoy some Disney classics from the 1930's to the 1960's in the Walt Disney Cinema or meet with some of the wonderfull minds of the United States in American Heroes, a fully animatronic show which contains some of the greatest presidents of all time. At the end of this street are the famous Partners Statue and Belle's Castle.

Adventureland
To the southwest of the hub are the jungles of Adventureland. Here you become explorers of your own minds and uncover the secrets of the worlds jungles. Join the pirates in their search for the cursed gold in the classic Pirates of the Carribean or help the infamous Indiana Jone's uncover mysterys of the southpacific islands in Indiana Jones and The River Of Dreams. If you would like to be a member of a safari, hop into a jeep in Jungle Expedition, a high-tech thrill ride through the jungles of the world. Are shows more your style? Then take a seat and be serenaded by the magical birds of Walt Disneys Enchanted Tiki Room. Your young ones may wish to journey on their own adventure in King Louies Hide Out, a crazy playground area featuring characters from "The Jungle Book".

Frontierland
Next to the mysterious jungles of Adventureland is the American frontier of Frontierland.Take a journey through the olde west on Western River Adventure, a boatride through the Olde West of America. Still have an itch for exploration? Then you may want to check out Tom Sawyers Island, an island full of caves and forts waiting to be uncovered(Based on Mark Twains classic). If you got music in your soul then check out the Country Bear Jamboree and the Davey Crockett Revue.

Dixie Square
Right next to Frontierland is the American south of Dixie Square. Dixie Square is right in the middle of southern of America. Take a tour through the classic Haunted Mansion, featuring all 999 grim grinning ghosts. Get in on the persuit of Brer Rabbit in Splash Mountain, featuring the giant jaw-"dropping" finale.

Fantasyland
Where dreams are made and sometimes come true! This is mountainside town of Fantasyland. Here you can ride through some of disney's classic antimated features in their own respective rides. Following Pinnochio in Pinnochio’s Daring Journey, Flying over London in Mary Poppin's Flight, Run from the headless horseman in The Ride Of Ichabod Crane , Be invited to a Mad Tea Party or flying with the elephants on Dumbo The Flying Elephant. Visit the children of the world in " its a small world " or visit Mickey and friends in Mickey’s Philarmagic. If youre daring enough you may take place in the slaying of the magical dragon in Inferno Mountain.

Tommorowland
The future that never was but always will be. This is the town of Tommorowland. Take a tour of the city on the Tommorowland Transit Authority or observe the skys on the Astro Orbiter. Challenge the top racers of the galaxy in Star Wars Podracer, a rollercoaster based on the famous "Star Wars" films by George Lucas. Race through space in the classic rollercoaster Space Mountain and meet the star of "Lilo and Stitch" in Stitch Encounter!.

More updates soon. Please give feedback

Two big things I noticed. One: What happened to Jungle Cruise? Two: What happened to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad?

Just something for you to think about!:D

The reason I didnt include BTMR was because after the accident in DL I couldnt see Disney putting it in any of their new parks in the near future. I may change my plans thought, we'll see :animwink: .

I didnt put in JC was because I thought I had too many water attractions(PotC,Indiana Jones,Western River Adventure,Splash Mountain) and I thought it was too similar to the Jungle Expedition attraction, which I really wanted to put in there. Although Jungle Cruise is one of my favorites.

I need some help from everyone, I want to include an Aladdin show somewhere in my park but I dont know where since I want to keep the mysterious jungle theme of Adventureland and the European mountainside theme of Fantasyland. Quite a situation :veryconfu

P.S:Anyone have any ideas on where this resort could be? I've been thinking Hawaii or Texas.Gimme some feedback.

I agree on BTMRR that it should be put in, and I like the idea of the new land!:) The Indiana Jones ride kinda needs a new name. River of Dreams sounds like a a calm ride. How about River of Terror? Somthing scary. I noticed that fantaseyland needs more rides based on more famouse films. The Ichabod ride, maybe this is the one to drop. It'll be too scary for kids. Plus, all of the fantaseyland rides need to be suited for the family. I suggest a Snow White ( less scary ) and a peter pan's flight. For the Mary Poppins ride, mabye less flying on it to make PP not too similar. Also, why not a winnie the pooh ride? And where's Toon Town?

Tomorrowland needs a couple more rides and it'll be fine. The Star Wars rides can't be based on just one part of all the movies. It needs to have all of the elements of the movies combined. Plus, a roller coaster won't work anyway. How would you hide the track?

Its not inapropriate to put BTMRR just because of the accident. The ride will be up and running in no time and BTMRR is a classic that needs to be put in all of the magic kingdoms.

Over all, I like your ideas. Keep workin!:sohappy:

I agree on the Indiana Jones name, River of Dreams is only a temporary name until I do some more research on the southpacific islands.

I think Im gonna keep all my Fantasyland attractions but thanks for the suggestions(Afterall theres still Phase 2 to add attractions!). I dont think Ichabod would be too scary, its more like Mr.Toads Wild Ride.

As I said, I'll add more rides to each land in Phase 2 so the attraction level in Tommorowland is fine right now.

On the Star Wars rollercoaster, I hadnt thought of that! I will continue to brainstorm on it.

And BTMRR, we'll see what Phase 2 brings us :animwink:

Sounds good. Although Mr. Toad was scary to kids. Being chased by the headless horseman might scare them, but we'll see about phase 2.;)

Good job! Just to let you know, you've got the name Western River Adventure for the ride in Frontierland. The original planned ride for FL was called Western River EXPEDITION. Just a friendly reminder!:D

Disney announces new attractions and removals
The Walt Disney Company held another press conference this morning to announce two new attractions and a removal of another in the new Disneyland park in Disneyland Texas.

"Star Wars Podracer", a rollercoaster set to be placed in Tommorowland has been dropped due to what the President of Disneyland Texas calls "Lack of intrest and budget problems".This will be replaced with "Star Tours" , a version of this attraction already exists in Orlando's Disney MGM Studios park. This version will be vastly different though. Instead of taking a routine trip to Endor, guests will board a Republic cruiser and be dropped into the horrific Clone Wars.

Another new attraction will be a live stage show set in Adventureland. Entitled "Arbian Nights", guests will sit in the giant theater and be treated to the songs of the hit movie "Aladdin".

Also announced was that the attraction "Indiana Jones and the River of Dreams" will now be called "Indiana Jones and the Tides of Lost Souls".

A full list of opening day attractions, shops and dining is set to be released in the near future along with descriptions of the three resorts.

Im aware :animwink: . I rather use the word expedition for my attraction "Jungle Expedition" because I thought "Jungle Adventure" sounded rather bland.

P.S: Would anyone here the has some free time(and artistic talent) want to help me by sketching up some concept art?

Not sure if Texas would work in terms of location-- actually, I have no idea. For the park I am working on, my first choice for its location was Hawaii if in the U.S. and Australia if International.

As for the distance from Texas to DL and WDW, a couple of weeks ago, Disney announced plans to build a park in hai-- a mere 550 miles away from Hong Kong! Shanghai is also 1123 miles from Tokyo-- I found this on an International flight mileage chart somewhere on the Internet-- don't remember the URL, though!

Anyway, it looks like your off to a good start! Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing the finished product! Good luck! :)

Interesting information, I wasnt aware of Shanghai.

I was considering Hawaii,I'll have to put some more thought into it.

Thanks for the response :D

Edit: I just thought maybe New Zealand could work. Although I might have to axe my "American Heroes" attraction which I really wouldnt want to do(Thats the reason why Im trying to find some where in the U.S). What does everyone think?

Personally, I'm attached to suburban Washington, but that's only because I live there. Good ideas! Keep working!

Id say put it in the upper midwest, maybe outside Chicago, that way you would attract midwesterners who can drive so therefore making it more affordable, plus you would make a sort of "triangle" accross the U.S.
