Hi all,

Just got back last night from a 5 day trip out to SoCal. My husband and I packed our trip full of fun activities. We spent Tues 5/2, and Wed 5/3 at Disneyland and California Adventure.
We stayed at Paradise Pier Hotel. It was so nice. It's not Grand Californian but hey, its a Disney Resort and there is something magical in that. Some of the highlights of our trip included the Parades. We sadly were deprived of the fireworks and Fantasmic. But the CM's in both the Block Party and Parade of Dreams get 2 thumbs up in my opinion for their never ending enthusiasm.
We took photos of the Finding Nemo Sub Voyage rehab. We enjoyed numerous trips on TOT, Soarin, Space Mountain, and Screamin.
I was blown away by Space Mountain. I was 13 when I made my first trip to DW in 1993 and I remember the amazement I felt on Space Mountain. DL's version brought that feeling back to me.
We ate at Goofy's Kitchen, Ariel's Grotto, Carnation Cafe, and Tortilla Joes. I cannot really put a good reason to it but Goofy's Kitchen felt very overrated. But the kids around us had alot of fun.
What else...
On our first day there we were going on 15 straight hours of being awake. My husband stopped at Grand Californian lobby to use the restroom. I had a rest in one of their cozy chairs in the lobby and looked up at the ceiling as the fireplace burned and the piano played. It took my hubby 2-3 min extra to find me. But I was so relaxed and in awe of that hotel at that moment, so I didn't care. He nearly had to drag me out; I could have slept there that night.
Monster's Inc ride was cute, cute, cute. I love the small details like the Taxi #, signs, etc... We got to talking to a CM usher at the Hyperion while waiting for Aladdin to start. He told us that there are 2 ladies that come to see the show for near all showings everyday it plays. In fact, one lady was there today and had claimed the first row, and last seat to the left. And she supposedly had become very protective of that seat and had been known to ask other guests to move. Has anyone else heard of this? I love, love, love the show but why go to every show, everyday. Must be quite a hobby.

Well after leaving Disney area, we drove along the PCH down to San Diego. We went to see the Cubs play the Padres, San Diego Zoo, Hotel Del Coronado, beaches, and walked around the Gaslamp Quarter. It was a nice combination trip with Disney.
Well I plan to get some pics up soon!

Thanks for reading!

I love San Diego…can never get bored there. Hotel Del Coronado is beautiful and intriguing since it is supposedly haunted.

Never heard of the two Aladdin loyal fans! Sounds like it was a good trip! Can’t wait to see the pics.
