Any idea when they are going to update the Android app to the same version as the Apple products? Mine has been stuck on the same version since it was released in September, and it appears they have introduced a lot of important functions with the last few updates.

Disney has been in bed with Apple for years, since Jobs was the largest single shareholder. Nothing has changed. Disney will continue to favor Apple, disregarding the fact that Android outsells iPhones 4-to-1.

Anyway, what features does the Apple version have that the Android doesn't?

From what I can tell by reading the release notes on the Apple version, is that the information that is now available on the website version, including reservations, are in the app. Also, the newer Apple versions have the restaurant menus included.

I've got an Android phone so I'm disappointed too but the trouble with Androids is they have to test every phone with every version of the Operating System, and even then some don't work properly.

Most developers just release bug fixes, looks like Disney is using the "get it right first time" approach.

Google has screwed up with the decision to segment the OS. This is the same mistake MS made and why Apple is so much easier to develop for. We'll get an update soon.

^^^Myths, it is not harder to develop for Android.

As far a fragmentation I own a Apple 3G does that run everything an Apple 5 would?
So there are hundreds of Android models released a year and one model iPhone, stupid me I like to chose.

As far as this App it has not and has never been available outside of the US.

Which App? If you mean "My Disney Experience" I'm in the UK and I have it on Android.

FYI, looks like an update for the MDE app was just released for Android.

As others have said, Disney don't care about Android as it is harder to maintain than the standard Apple version. They have recently updated it but the Apple version is still superior.

Mine updated tonight, but I didn't notice any added functionality to it regarding reservations, etc.

I haven't messed around with it too much since last night but I did notice that it was running much more stable on my Nexus (which is running Jellybean).

New update posted tonight. Adds menus to Android version of the app. Unfortunately it isn't compatible with the latest release of Jellybean.

Just downloaded it, I can now add friends and in theory book fastpass+ for rides and dining 60 days out.

Because I'm 172 days out I can't try that yet.

I own both an iPod Touch and an Android smartphone. I just updated the Android version and have been messing around with it. the iOS version STILL runs more smoothly. It's easier to navigate, easier to scroll, and it has the My Plans feature when the Android version does not. I was in WDW in January and favoring my iPod Touch for ride times rather than my Android. Just a cleaner, smoother design. I wish they'd put the nice smooth design that they have for iOS on Android.

The other thing that frustrates me about the app is that they don't separate ride times from show times and character greetings. I wish they'd make them separate screens.

I have an Android personal phone (running ICS) and an Apple 4S for work. Have the app on both and they seem to do same things except My Plans on the Android. My Android phone is Verizon. The work phone is Sprint. App seems to respond and run about the same.

New update for the MDE Android app today. Looks like it gets the features on par with the iOS version.
