MVMCP?

Our next trip to WDW is Dec 7 thru 11, we have 3 day HP that we will use Dec 8, 9, and 10. But our for our first day, Dec 7 we have tickets to MVMCP. We to have never been to the party before so I have a few questions.

I have read that in years past you were able to enter MK at 4 pm even though the party doesn't officially start until 7, is this still true?

Do we go through the regular "gates" or is there a specific gate that we must go through to get our wrist bands?

I had made some FP selections from 4-6 hoping that we could get in early. How do we use these FP selections, do we use the card for MVMCP or would we use our magic bands (both are linked to MDE)?

We have been to WDW a few different times in the past few years but never to MVMCP, is there anything else us first timers should know?

There is a special party gate beginning at 4 pm and they scan your MB.
I always bring the paper tickets in case there is an issue (they come in the mail and say WDW gift cards with the paper showing they are for MVMCP). Once you are scanned you get a party bracelet to show you are a guest plus schedule and map for shows and treats. You should be able to use the band to show FPs at the attractions as usual.

We went for the first time last year and everything @CynBeth says is correct. We did the exact same thing by bringing our paper tickets, but they scanned our bands for entrance. If you have the same concern as I had the system is smart enough to distinguish your party ticket from your 3 day ticket so as not to use up one of those days by accident. Everything worked smoothly through the Magic Band.

Did the same but never got paper tickets, all were on MDE account. Had fastpasses before 7, no problems.
