MVMCP and park closing

I just finished reading an article on mouseplanet.com about the upcoming MVMCP and MNSSHP. The park will be closing at 7pm the exact same time as the party is suppose to start which indeed will guarantee that many many many people will get to see this event for free. We Pay for our tickets to ensure we can go to MVMCP and now we feel like we are throwing our money out the window. This is very upsetting. We pay for two tickets and hundreds of people if not thousands will get in for free. We don't get the pleasure of living close to florida and we only get to go normally once every few years. Having these special events makes our vacation time extra special and now it's like throwing money out the window driving down the highway. I don't know how WDW is going to deal with this problem but something has to be done.

I wouldn't get upset just yet. When I was at Disney last year during the Halloween party, the CMs worked very hard at kindly ushering guests without tickets to the events out of the parks. And I'm sure in most cases, guests were happy to oblige. I'm sure that there are a few jerks out there that will try to sneak into things like that and not pay, but I think that those people are few and far between. Most people will respect that there is a special event going on and may linger a bit to get a peek, but in the end, will leave with those who did not pay.

Also, I think in the case of the Halloween party (not sure of the Christmas), the park closes at 6p and the party starts at 7. There is an area arranged for those party guests to be in so that they can be in the park as soon as the party begins:wave:

I hope this helps!

A couple of thoughts:

1. If you want to make sure and be able to attend the event, purchasing a ticket is the correct thing to do.

2. I would imagine Disney has plans in place to reduce the amount of non paying attendees. I know we did MVMCP last year and there were a number of non banded people attending. You cant get everyone out unless you empty the park and have paying guests reenter through the front turnstiles.

3. I was not all that impressed with the event to begin with, so it is not something I would pay for again. The only thing that I found interesting were the perimeter fireworks...

Well in order to enjoy the party you need to have the wristbands that are distributed to the party ticket holders only (similar to EMH). This allows you access to the rides and free treats handed out during the night. They also allow you access to get the free photo.

So basically without the wristband you may be able to hide out in MK for the night, but that would not be my idea of a party.

They may get to watch the fireworks or the parade (if the CM's don't catch them)... but they can't ride the rides. They check for the wrist bands like they do for the LMH.

I agree... they should respect the people who purchased the tickets, like us who will be there in 100 days from today.. WHOO HOO.

The only thing they'll be able to see is the parade and Wishes....almost everything else, you'll need to show your armband.
