Hi all

First timer here, we are actually visiting Walt Disney world now. First day we did Magic Kingdom and DTD, we were going to return to Magic Kingdom in the evening but fell asleep too early (7ish ) I am debating to go back there instead of Epcot or Animal Kingdom...If you guys had to choose between the three? Which one will you go to?

I feel we didn't get to see all of Magic Kingdom... Originally we were going to go to Epcot but I'd really like to go back to MK.

All suggestions are appreciated! Thank you!

I am huge Disney fan and love all the parks. BUT as a first timer with minimal time I say Magic Kingdom all the way since there is so much to do their and the best for a Disney experience.

How many days are you down here for?

We came down here for 5 five days. Leaving on Thursday, I honestly wish I'd purchase 4 days instead of 3 days tickets. We drove down from Chicago and didn't want to overdo it (getting exhausted) but so far the little ones are doing fine.

My favorite park by far is Epcot. But it's a huge park and will easily take you two days to see everything. So I guess the question is: would you rather see everything at a fairly relaxed pace at MK, or go see part of another park after seeing only part of MK? If you have 'park hopper' tickets, I'd say head to MK and have a satisfying day, then head to Epcot to at least see the park a bit and ride a few things if there's time. But if you have to only choose one, I'd stick with MK and not stress about leaving things un-seen.

EDIT: If you have little kids, definitely stick with MK. Not that they wouldn't like Epcot, but that park is gigantic and will wipe people out.

Thanks! What do you like about Epcot the most? For future planning..

I think I will stick to seeing MK again. We have a 2 1/2 year, 5 year old, and 14th year old. Though I did make sure to go to Hollywood studios for the bigger rides for my teen.

Future World has a great variety of rides for kids - from Figment and Nemo for the little ones to Soarin, Test Track and Mission: Space for the 14 year old.
The 14 year old could enjoy the Agent P fun in World Showcase. It's an interactive game in which you try to catch Dr. Doofenschmirtz in the countries. The little ones would enjoy coloring a Duffy or Perry mask. Cast Members stamp the sticks with Mickey's from all the countries. You could also purchase passport kits. Cast Members write greetings in their native language in them. The kids will also enjoy decorating with the stickers in the kit. The older one would enjoy learning about the different countries from the Cast Members.

Last year we skipped Animal Kingdom and did Magic Kingdom 3 times and Epcot 3 times and Hollywood Studios once. My daughter is 11 and loved Epcot. She enjoyed walking around the countries, trying different foods, shopping, riding Nemo, Figment, Spaceship Earth, Maelstrom (which is gone now) and seeing the topiaries that were just getting set up for Flower and Garden. I wouldn't discount Epcot. This year we got park hoppers so we can do multiple parks in one day so we will finally get to visit Animal Kingdom.

Agreed with what others said about Epcot: the rides in Future World will appeal to you as well as your kids (Test Track, Soarin', Spaceship Earth, Nemo, Imagination) and walking around the different countries in World Showcase and trying things like fancy ice cream in France or paprika potato chips in Germany is a lot of fun for kids. I personally just love wandering around, eating food from different places, and enjoying Illuminations at night.

Depends.... You are first timers and didnt see all of MK. But you did get a taste of what MK is about. Now if you want a different "taste/experience" of WDW, I'd go next to EP. The variable would be if you are planning a return trip soon. If so, no big deal, you can plan to see the rest of MK when you come again. First visits never get to see it all, thats the fun of planning a return trip, you can get excited about the things you overlooked the first time.

If you do Epcot, make sure to stop by the "Kidcot" stops for the kids. They will get to make a souvenir they can take home and meet someone from the country you are visiting. Best of all, it is free.

Also, I'd recommend you do a different park and not repeat. I love AK, so I would never say skip it. My kids are 10 & 14 and they LOVE Epcot. You've already experienced MK.

As a 1st timer, I'd definitely visit all 4 parks! We've been going to WDW since 2007, and recently have just been visiting EPCOT and MK twice each no park hoppers ( too exhausting for me and not doing PH again until they fix the FP+ system!). This year ( we skipped last year) we'r going to visit all 4 parks just 1 a day. If you have an extra day ( 5 days) I'd spend the extra day at MK or EPCOT. That's just MHO.;)

you can always add add'l days on your ticket if your schedule will allow. Think of the time and expense that was already spent to get there. I try to point that out to everyone that is making their first visit. In my view, it is not worth it to short yourself from any of the parks or the time needed to see and do as much as you can. Yes there will be future trips if you get the "bug" but seeing all the parks is part of the disney experience.

We quit park hopping years ago and now just stick to one park. Maybe I'm just getting too old, but hopping just does not make sense for us, but we go two to three times per year. I can see how people might want to try to maximize their park time by hopping. For us, we now try to maximize relaxing by the pool time.

First timer? While I love Epcot, my suggestion for you is to go back to MK. Save Epcot or Animal Kingdom for another trip when you have more time. Besides, that gives you a good excuse to come back soon.

In order to truly enjoy WDW, this is my time table for each park.

MK (2-3 full days). There is so much to do here. If it is just rides you are after, it is 1 day. The street shows, parades, M&Gs, and interacting with CMs makes this park so much more.

Epcot 2 (3/4 days): First day do (the whole left side) Test Track, Mission Space, Innovations, and half the countries on the left side. If you can swing more attractions before World Showcase opens, do them. Second day, do the entire right side: Soarin, Nemo, Imagination, and the other half of the countries in WS on the right side. This also allows for going through International Gateway to visit BC/YC and Boardwalk.

DHS (1/2 day at most): After being at WDW many times, this park has almost nothing to offer now. Yes, it is much longer if you go see the same shows over and over and over and over and over...sorry stuck record. For us, it is just not much to do.

AK (1 full day): The rides are all fun and enjoyable. The shows are great. The big difference is all of the street performers, CMs from the native countries, and noticing the details. If you just want to hit a show or 2 and run to the rides, it is a half-day park. More than 1 day may be too much though. All of this changes immensely when Avatar opens up and River of Lights starts.
