AP-Muppets Deal
Hensons: bargain found in buyback
(Berlin-AP) -- The German media company E-M T-V says it is
selling the company known for the Muppets back to the Henson
family. The deal worth 89 (m) dollars is for just a fraction of
what E-M T-V paid for Jim Henson Company three years ago.
That deal in February 2000 was for 680 (m) million dollars
in cash and stock.
The company says the sale will allow it to concentrate on
paying off debt.
Bought for 680 million, sold for 89 million. Who runs this EM TV group anyway. "The Jerk?" ("Ahhh, so it's a PROFIT deal!")
