Not sure if this is posted yet (didn't see it anywhere), but the Muppet Mobile Laboratory was out and roaming in DCA on Tuesday. Here's the info from Disneylink:

Muppet Mobile Lab
On Feb. 27, Muppet characters Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and his assistant Beaker unexpectedly greeted Guests at Disney's California Adventur®.As part of Disney's Living Characters initiative, Walt Disney imagineering Research and Development is 'playtesting' its 'Muppet Mobile Lab' featuring the classic Muppet characters. This next step in the evolution of Disney storytelling technology represents the first-ever, freeroaming Audio -Animatronics ® characters able to interact with each other as well as Guests. The Muppet Mobile Lab is not currently scheduled as a permanent attraction in any Disney park.

Awesome! I saw the photo at Jim Hill Media and the Mobile Lab looked really cool. Did anyone in CA happen to see it? Hopefully it'll come to MGM if it proves popular enough...

That is real cool. Anyone konw if it's completely remote controlled or if there's an operator in the ship, much like Lucky's flower cart?

That does look really cool. Although it looked like he malfunctioned in the middle of his performance when he stopped in the middle of his speech about fast pass, paused for a while, and then just suddenly started singing heigh-ho. That was kinda weird, but it still looks pretty cool.

A very big step in bringing the Muppets back to their former glory :sohappy: The only problem is the AA dosen't sound anything like Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, at least from what I could hear in the video, very cool though

I'm hoping the audio in the video is just off, cuz neither Bunsen nor Beaker sound right...and the script was kinda...blah. Technology is amazing, though. Hope they work on the jokes, though...it wasn't very funny and clearly I wasn't the only one not too entertained cuz everyone left...

Hmm... promising, but flawed in delivery. Dr. Bunsen sounds "off," and Beaker is missing a bit of his normal character. The script could use a little tweaking, as well.

At first I thought Beaker had stopped to watch those people leave, and would have said something, (that would have been funny...) but apparently there are some tweaks to work out in the system.

They really need to work on the voices, and the script could still use a bit of work. But this is really cool, I hope they get all the kinks worked out soon and it can make its way to MGM when I go later this year.

Pretty Cool. And the psychology experiment on the video actually does work. Some friends and I did the same thing in a queue at Six Flags over Ga - pointing up and making "see that?" comments - and came back to the same ride later in the day and people were still looking up in the trees at the same spot.

As far as the technical difficulties experienced during the video, I think the CM voicing Dr Honeydew was stopped before he could advocate people just breaking in line (his "super fast-pass").

Yeah, I'm a HUGE Bunsen and Beaker fan, and they really need to work on the voice. Although, give it some time. This was the first time it was out, so I'm sure they will work out that kink, along with some others.

Overall, I was really blown away by it. The mouth movments, the head turning, it was so realistic.

Imagineering is in Glendale - it's a hell of a lot easier to test it close to home.

True. But there is a smaller Imagineer headquarters in Orlando.

I just wish they did have it here in the Disney-MGM Studios, since we have that nice little Muppets area with the fountain right next to attraction. :)
