I was planning to go to USF this weekend---is the ride still open or is it closed as they investigate? Thanks!

It's open. I remember hearing (if I remember right) that the man didn't even sue because it was his fault. It was on the way to school one morning so I might be confusing things as it was early.

I don't know about the not sueing part but his family would have been the ones to sue because he died in the incident. The ride is still operating normaly.

Well, the man died so...I'm guessing he won't sue. His family could always sue Universal but it wasn't their fault that the man had health problems and fell.

I heard the ride was closed only for about 2 hours after the incident and then reopened the same day. And if's def. open because I've been on it many times since then!

Oh wow I missed some details. I knew there was something more to the story. :hammer:

YES! The ride is open and they are finally using the front rows again.

For those of you who don't know, they stopped putting guests in the front row of all vehicles after the accident, just until things were "cleared up." They also adjusted boarding procedures, putting an extra employee at the front of the vehicle to increase safety.

Instead of those "soft plastic" extensions on the gates that open for front row guests (Row 1), metallic tubing has been added as an extension to the boarding gates. They match the gates themselves, except for they are painted black.

The ride is definently open and at 100%. I rod eit for the first time Thursday and it was INCREDIBLE! I loved it and it's by far my new favorite ride in either Universal Park. Think Space Mountain meets Dinosaur meets Egypt ... then multiply times ten.
