I'd hardly call Premer the leader in LIM since, although the first, they also have the roughest. Anyone remember Flight of Fear with horse collars?

Flight of Fear was their first ride. They aren't the leader in launching coasters in general... but they are the leader in LIM launching. S&S uses compressed air and Vekoma uses LCM instead of LIM. Just some useless facts for ya. Also, they have had a recent success with SPEED which is a wonderful ride.

Yes, and those were the most dramatically improved rides I have ever seen when they were removed for a modded lapbar.

The cat is definitely clawing it's way out of the bag now...

Intamin uses Hydraulic launches for the Xcelarator/Dragster type rides, but they use LIMs for the Impluse Coasters. They also use LIMS on Volcano.

Anyway... I think its interesting that Universal would choose Premier after all their other (major) coasters were B&M.

The only reason I can think is that B&M wouldn't do the layout / use LIMs.

Even then... I think Intamin would have been a better choice.

WOW! I'm happy Universal is finally waking up and making new rides...so like there is a ride based on the movie Speed now?? is that what your saying? anyways thats cool! I love the Mummy Movie's, also the sequal is like the only sequal that was done well and one that I like...not any of this disney "2" movie crap...they honestly need to stop being lazy and make good movies soon, or they will go down the tubes like Kmart, which may I add the world head quarters is right down the street from me. They lay people off everyday...ok cya later!
Speed is a ride in Las Vegas. Sorry that I wasn't clear.

It looks like this will be one hell of an attraction.

Although, you have to wonder when the next ride will be built at IOA. Since it's been open, it hasn't added much. sure, it added storm force and flying unicorn, but nothing big, and UO will have added men in black, jimmy neutron, shrek, and the new mummy attraction.

I know US needed some upgrades and changes, and it's good to see that they are happening, but something will need to be built at IOA in the near future.

I'm glad that they're finally getting many new rides put in. I don't like how some great rides are getting closed down though. This seems that it could become a great ride. Can't wait to ride it.

One Question

Does the closing of King Kong Mean that there is no more free space for new Attraccion, and in order to bring a new one they have to take down one?
