Why Did they redo the music? The only difference is Blue Fairy changed to Tink..And Jack Wagner's audio was used for the new version..It sounds a bit off when they say Magic Kingdom.
IMO The Original track is Way better. :D

I kinda like the new music. I love the original music as well. It was well worth a trip from NY to see MSEP.

Although, now I'm ready to see Spectro again. But I don't mind MSEP for a while.

How long is this going to be staying at WDW? I'm hoping it will be there through the next year at least so my friend can see it when we're back again next Sept. He saw Spectromagic during his first time there three years ago and I'd love for him to be able to see MSEP.

I don't have a problem with the updated soundtrack. It's still the same song.

I agree the new music is not NEARLY as good as the old. It sounds like a bad TV show theme for kids. . .

Anyway, I hate to bump an old thread, but I've JUST heard about why they changed the music from Don Dorsey's 1977 arrangement to a more modern DreamLights version...if you listen to the original (in the link above!), you will notice that after you hear the 'main' theme for the FOURTH time, one measue of the music skips a beat, resulting in a three-beat measure which throws off anyone who was counting in 2 or 4. This was a major headache for the performers for years who found it hard to march that 3/4 measure.

So, when the parade underwent it's big 2009 rehab for DCA, they decided to use the Dream Lights version especially because it doesn't have that bizarre measure of only three beats...

Here is a FANTASTIC speech given by Don Dorsey which talks about his history with the entire parade, including mentioning everything I just said above. This is a must-hear for any fan of Main Street Electrical Parade.
