Moving to Orlando in October- What should I go experience?

Hello everyone!
I'm going to be moving to Orlando in October to start school for my 2nd degree (Visual Effects Production at the DAVE School near Universal Orlando). I've been a lifelong Disney fan (and Universal fan) but what are some other things in the Orlando area that I should try to experience? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated
(obscure Disney/Universal experiences are also welcomed!)

Haven't been myself in a while but Bikkuri Sushi over on Colonial was pretty reliable for good stuff back when I was eating out a lot.

Most of the "local" scene will be found on the North Side of town. Personal favorites from when I lived in orlando include East End Market near Downtown, the Little Saigon area (Around the corners of Mills and Colonial)(Especially Pig Floyd's), and 17-92/Orlando Ave: Specifically The Glass Knife.
