Moving to Central FL

Well, its happening. After about 10 years of "what ifs" and waiting for the right time, we are pulling the trigger and selling our home in NY to move the sunny state of FL. Since we both work from home, and hate loathe the winter, and we have family and friends in the sunshine state, that is where we decided. We always said once our pooch goes, we would make the move, and sadly in December we said goodbye to our newfie..

The parks? couldn't care less about going to them. As a matter of fact, if we do get any sort of passes, they will definitely be the Epcot after 4 passes. What does excite us is the prospect of hosting friends and family that will want to go to the parks. We are starting out in an apartment until we figure out exactly where we want to be. As of right now the apartment is looking like it will be in Hunter's Creek, as we spent a bunch of time there and feel pretty comfortable with calling that home for a while. After a year, we will put down roots and become permanent Floridians. I have to say that I have been absent from this forum for a loooong time but this may just spark a return as I will have a little more input than just the once every few year visit that I have had in the past.

Good for you. I've been dying to pull that trigger myself.
Thank you! The timing isn't perfect for us since I am currently furloughed, but we have plenty of cash to pay for a year if we need it. The one thing really playing in our favor is the housing market where we live is extremely good. We were told to expect 20-30 over our asking price.

I hope all goes well for you and you can make the move yourself. Where are you coming from?

Maryland. Someday I hope to. I have asthma and the climate up here is just not ideal. I don't mind the heat but my lungs cannot take the cold. I'm in my 20s right now so it's a long-term goal. I've mostly stayed here as long as I have because of the healthcare here.

My wife is mid 30s and im early 40s so hopefully you get to do it before you hit our ages. I hope the move helps you in every way.
