Moving Angel Wings - OSL

My dad was wondering how they made the angels' wings appear to move...the Christmas light angels from Osborne Spectacle of Lights, that is. We know there's three 'layers' of wings, each layer lighting up consecutivly to give the wings movement. I suppose what my dad's question is is how do they make the 'layers' of wings light up like that? Hopefully that makes sense :hammer:

Its just a simple electrical control sequence circuit that bounces from "A" "B" "C" "B" "A" and repeat.
