Warning: Spoilers below for Sophia the First, Elena of Avalor, and Narnia.
The world the Disney Princesses inhabit can seem like they could possibly exist in our world, with one major exception... magic is real in the Princesses' world.
Fans have wondered if all those Princess movies all exist in one alternate universe. There are theories of connections between the movies (Elsa and Rapunzel separated at birth) and Easter Eggs (Rapunzel attending Elsa's coronation).
Well, in the Disney animated TV series, Sofia the First, Sofia is visited by these princess (and Olaf): Aurora, Ariel, Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, Tiana, Rapunzel, Jasmine, Mulan, Merida. That would certainly seem to put them in the same 'universe.'
From Sofia's series, arises a connected series of Elena of Avalor. And in Elena's series, we learn that Christianity exists in that world. Whereas Sofia's kingdom celebrated "Wassailia", a "coldest day of the year" celebration of "singing around the tree" and gift-giving (basically, Christmas stripped of all Christianity); Elena and friends celebrate quite explicitly "Navidad", which is Spanish for Christmas. And lest any think that that is a watered down vague "birth" holiday, Elena's Northern European friend wishes her a merry Christmas.
You also have Snow White praying for the dwarves and the live action Beauty and the Beast feature a Christian church (the priest loans her books).
So, what's the big deal. This is our world, but only if we had magic along with Christ.
Wrong!
There are two worlds and two Christs! In the last episode of Sofia, an evil witch, after conquering Sofia's kingdom has her sights set on another world she's heard of. One that is above the land of pirates and mermaids past two stars.... That's right, the reverse direction from Neverland to our world! (And a picture of Peter Pan's island comes into view to make it very clear the reference.)
So, this connects Peter Pan to the Princess Universe and establishes that it is an alternate world that is parallel to ours, not in place of ours.
They pulled a Narnia. In the Narnia books, our world exists in parallel to a magical world of sentient and talking animals and mythical creatures. Over centuries, some humans accidentally cross over (the hero siblings and a bunch of other humans that muck things up). And it is discovered that Narnia has its own Christ, or rather, the same one appearing in both, one as a human, and one as a lion.
And the connection between the two worlds isn't some wardrobe made of magical wood, but a secret path through the skies (oh, heck, that might mean the land of giants from BFG is also connected...).
The more you know.
