I always liked Disney Movies' music. I remember that when The Little Mermaid came out the songs where awesome, people loved them and won an Academy Award, the same with Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King. But gradually Disney songs lost some enchantment. Maybe because Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz weren't involved in the last movies, but I think some of the newest Disney movies lack of a theme song or tune, in this I include Dinosaur, Atlantis, Monsters Inc, Tarzan, Emperor's etc. I think the last movie with sticky songs was Mulan which had some wonderful tunes like "Be a Man" which remind me of the older movies.
I think Disney needs to come back to the thematic songs and melodies, since then they become a trade-mark in Disney's history and also help the memory of the movie, meaning many people uses the Beauty and The Beast track for a WALTZ dance and that helps people to remember how fine was the movie. Music is very important in a movie, without it, films would be cold and senseless.
Just a thought.
