Mousepaper Contest #10

Since I can't post this under the contest forum, I guess I'll have to post it here.

Why is there going to be a vote on this contest. I thought DisneyCP2000 was suppose to pick the winner. Also if DisneyCP2000 is going to pick the winner then how can he enter.

As far as the other entries are concerned, Monorail Lime entered one which we all took as a joke, grizzlyhall entered one that was too big and then Monorail Lime took it, resized it, and entered it. Don't know if that was a joke or not.

That leaves two legitimate entries, mine and CalDisney's. With that said I am withdrawing my entry, which leaves only one entry into the contest. So let me be the first to say CONGRATULATIONS to CalDisney.

The contests are judged by everyone in the forum. The winner only gets to choose the topic for the next contest.

OK, I misunderstood on that, but I still want out of the contest. As listed in another thread/poll, the real contestants (the ones with the expensive photo editing/graphics programs) don't have time to participate, so we should not have any more contest.

But hey, I not part of the "group" and I certainly don't want to disagree with anyone, so I'm out of the contest.

I'm hoping I won't have to leave the WDWmagic board but I might be upsetting the apple cart here and I could get the boot.

As I posted elsewhere, programs aren't an issue. I haven't seen ANYONE enter anything that couldn't have been done with the free programs tha are available to everyone.

I don't get it

Why is it that someone always seems to get bent out of shape about these contests. I always viewed them as a silly, fun little thing we could do to show off our creativity and love of Disney.

But since I have been on these boards (mid-summer) there seems to be a fiar bit of anger and unhappiness surrounding the contests. Is it the way they are structured, is it that some members have a more competitive nature than others (mea culpa, BTW)?

If we can figure out why the problem seems to occur then maybe we can restructure the contests to avoid the headaches.

Maybe they shouldn't be contests at all but rather a gallery on a particular theme or subject with the same rules for submission applying (i.e. sizes for mousepapers, rules for attraction posters, etc.) just drop the voting at the end. This way we can all enjoy the creative work of others without having to create an atmosphere where we have to decide who is better than everybody else. And possibly without voting being involved we may see more people contributing.

Please remember that these contests are just for fun. There are no cash prizes involved here, so I really don't see what the big fuss is about.

It's all about seeing what we all can put out on the table. Not being able to compete tooth and nail with each other.

I don't expect you to see my point because that would require intelligence and some maturity.

I think ace was just a little misinformed here, and i don't believe he was being particularly malicious.

Also go to the contest on hold poll and read my other post. Look at the big picture. I didn't mean for this to stretch across two threads, it just came out that way.
