Mother's Day weekend crowds

Given the reports of BIG crowds this week and the closing of the parking lots at MK and DAK....can anyone tell me how the crowds are normally on Mother's Day weekend? We are planning a trip from May 6-9th and I don't want to miss out on anything. We were at WDW last year on Memorial Day weekend and the crowds were not bad at all......very light at EPCOT and DAK especially, but hadn't been Mother's Day weekend.

Are the bigger crowds right now primarily because of Spring Break??

Right now it's due to Easter and the Easter/Spring Break school vacation crowds.

Epcot is usually the busiest on Mother's Day, nearing the end of the Flower and Garden festival. Usually a Mother's Day brunch is held at the Odyssey, not sure of it's happening this year or not.

We are actually doing the Mother's Day Brunch on Sunday (Mother's Day) at EPCOT. The brunch is both Saturday and Sunday in an area between Canada and the United Kingdom in World Showcase. Never done it before, but it sounds awesome. Great food even though the price is a little salty at $35.00 per person! BUT it's Disney so I know they'll do it right.

Mother's Day is so much fun at the parks.

My first CP, I worked at MK and they were passing put flowers to the mom's and I got one (even though I'm not a mom) and I still have it!

Last year I worked at DAK and the same thing...but I didn't get a flower.

But I don't think the crowds were too much worse than any other day around that time...you should be fine!

Great! What an extra special touch for mothers and mothers-to-be!! Once again WDW makes the extra effort to make a special visit even better.

What about the weekend after?

A last minute trip just came up. We will be in FL from May 13-17. So of course, we will make a day trip Disney! Yeah, what a great surprise to wake up to this morning! Anyway, how are the crowds on Fridays in May? Still not sure which park we are going to yet. Probably AK since we were just at MK and Epcot, last month.

I am guessing crowds will be heavy. Disney has now extended park hours through the last week of April, with the MK staying open until 9 and 9:30 pm every night there is not a Grad Night...I am expecting hours extensions throughout May, as well, and higher crowds than have been seen in years.

Will be arriving on Mothers Day ourselves. Have been there twice before and it was really nice. As mentioned they gave all the ladies a flower upon entrance to Epcot and they had a couple of locations around the park where they did a free photo. It was mailed to you about a week later. In fact it beat us home on one trip. As for crowds it wasn't too bad. We have made 4 trips in May and it seems that Friday's and Saturday's are rather busy as many Florida Schools have trips. Monday's thru Thursday's the park crowds were much lighter.
