Most Romantic Restaraunt in WDW

I am planning on proposing to my girlfriend the 1st night when we visit WDW in a few months. I also would like to surprise her with a Romantic dinner out that night. I was wondering opinions on what people thought was the most romantic. Excecpt for the Victoria and Alberts Restaruant at Grand Floridian...since it would ruin the surprise if we had to dress to the hilt before going...in which case I'm sure she would be on to me...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...thanks..:)

Toy Story Pizza Planet! Just kidding. Jiko is a great restaurant and somewhat romantic. The California Grill is also great, albeit a little noisey. However, you could walk out on the observation deck and propose there with MK in the background. The deck isnt usually that crowded either, just in case you want a little bit of privacy.

I think a window table ontop of the Contemporary at the California Grill would be very romantic....and wait till the fireworks go off in the background and ask her then. :D

Good LUCK!!! and Congrats!

GOOD LUCK:sohappy: MY WIFE AND I WERE AT WDW FOR OUR HONEYMOON AND WE ATE AT THE ROYAL TABLE OUR FIRST NIGHT STAY. LET THE CAST MEMBERS KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON AND THEY MAY BE ABLE TO HELP.

My Honeymoon highlight

My husband and I ate at Victoria and Alberts. It is an investment of time (3 hour dinner!) and money, but it is WORTH EVERY PENNY! We never had so much fun or ate so well. It truly is fine dining at it's best (and you'll NEVER be interupted by crazy families or little kids). Definately worth the investment. The restruant only has 2 seatings a night (last I checked) and 60 seats, so it goes fast! Let EVERYONE Know what you're up to, and you'll be treated like royalty! :)

Short of Victoria and Alberts, as you've ruled that out - the castle would be my #1 pick! :) Go for dinner and let the staff know what you're up to! :)

I thank everyone for their suggestions....Actually my original thought was for the California Grill atop the contemporary with a window View in time for the fireworks. I was still curious as to what other opinions would be. It seems the conscenous is in agreement with that..so I'm going to continue with that train of thought for now. Thanks for all the input..:)

Although Lady darlings glass slipper idea intriques me....I still think I'm leaning towards the california Grill...she has never been to wdw...so what better introduction then atop the comtemporary.

I like the Castle idea because the cast there will go out of their way to make sure the occasion is incredible. You are also in Cinderella's Castle, which can be romantic.

I proposed in front of the castle 2 years ago. Call Disney special events people. They set up a velvet chair and roped off the area for me. A Disney employee was there and took my camera and captured everything on film It really wasn't as pricey as you would think. (actually less than a very expensive dinner). Worth it. I was a hero to her, her family, her friends, strangers in the park. Trust me - call Disney and set it up. Magical to the max!:king:

Speaking of romantic places.... I know someone who proposed in the rose garden behind the UK pavilion. They did the glass slipper with the ring in it also.
