Of all the magical experiences what was the most magical thing that has ever happened for your family in the world? I'm having a hard time deciding!:) On my youngest's first trip to the world he was the first child into Character Spot and he got to have his picture taken with all the characters there at once and individually! ( his first character meeting) the looks on his face were priceless!:) But I'm going with father's day last trip, my ds got to pull the sword out of the stone with Flynn and the day kept getting better the cm there got him a pin he was hunting for, for quite a while and we had his birthday lunch at CP he must have spent forever dancing with Pooh and friends and we got his best character picture ever hugging Piglet and he got to ride in the front car of all 3 mountains!:) It was a day when everything kept getting better and better!:)

A good friend of mine takes his autistic son once a year to have a father/son bonding time together and I would book my trip around the same time. While the son still won't go on dark rides (the first time we tried to take him on Pirates, he kept saying in a very small voice (but terrified at the same time), 'it'll be ok, it'll be ok'. When the fireworks would begin, Jack would have a hard time with it and would want to run away.

On our last trip together two years ago it was great to see Jack actually able to enjoy the fireworks (a bit uneasy, but he liked them) and interact with some of the characters.

At the hotel, Jack was fascinated by the slide, but was scared to go down. He would climb to the top, watch the kids get ready to go and when the light turned green slide down but he would never do it. He would get into the water, but before the light would turn green he would get out and let another child go. This went on for hours. At some point another child decided to 'help' Jack and gave him a push before he could jump out. Well, momentary fear gave way to incredible fun. When he hit the bottom of the pool (we were waiting for him, in case he ever did decide to come down) he was all smiles and couldn't wait to race back up to the top - only this time he went down on his own. (we had to have a talk with him about waiting his turn, but that was minor!) After that, all Jack wanted to do was go on the slide.

What is something minor for almost every family was a major achievement for Jack and his dad....

Spending DS 2nd birthday at Chef Mickey's- he felt like a superstar! Mickey and the gang brought out his cake and the entire restaurant was twirling their napkins and singing to him. The next year when we went, as soon as he spotted Mickey he was waving furiously and shouting "Mickey, it's me Cooper, remember me from my birthday?!" And of course Mickey came over nodding his head and gave him a big hug!
Another time we were staying at POFQ during hurricane Wilma. The parks were closed so we went to the food court to grab some lunch. Goofy snuck up behind DS (who was 3) and started playing with him during lunch- he was so excited to have his friend "Goopsy" all to himself for such a long time.

My family and I went on an unplanned trip to universal/ioa, when we got to floridia we decided heck lets go to Hollywood studios and Epcot on our last days. So while at Hollywood studios we went to go to the tower of terror, but turned back to get some drinks while we waited in line. When we got in line we noticed a very loud young lady that sounded a lot like our long lost cousin. We thought we werer going a little crazy because what are the odds we ended up right behind our cousin in line for a ride at Hollywood studios that we haven't seen in ten years. Then she turned around and we all knew it for sure, but she didn't recognize us. My mother finally called out her name just to be sure and that's when she knew who we were and gave us all hugs. It was a pretty crazy emotional day.

I have another :)
On my 21 birthday- a long time ago- a friend of mine worked for Disney resorts. She had gotten me 2 nights at YC concierge level for $80/night. When my friend and I drove up- it was about 7pm. We pulled up to the guard house and the guard said "Welcome home, Pam. We've been waiting for you all day-Happy Birthday!" Same thing happened at check in. Then when we got to the room, it was COVERED with balloons there was a birthday cake, confetti, and an autograph book signed by all the characters and YC staff! At midnight, when I officially turned 21, We went to atlantic dance and jellyrolls. Since it was my Birthday, I drank all night for free, the next night was PI-how it used to be. It was such a great place to celebrate adulthood like a kid :)

Way back in the 90s I had Cinderella help me propose to my wife. The funny thing was when I told my waiter what I wanted to do he called downstairs and got Cinderella on the phone and I had to ask her to come help me. Cinderella marched the ring all around the restaurant before stopping at our table. At the time my wife thought Cinderella was bringing something special out to a little girl near us. After a short speech by Cinderella I got down on one knee and ask my wife to marry me. My wife was so shocked she couldn't answer, I asked again and she leaned in to kiss me (so I took that as a yes). It was a great day and great years since then. Anytime we walk by the castle our 8 yr old ask my wife to tell her the story again.

So many magical events to choose from. It seemed all too cliche to hear of magical events happening while at Disney but to experience it first hand, it's all so true. I think for me the most magical event would just have to be "reflection". To look back at photo's or in memory and reflect on all the special moments. During the period around our last trip there were a lot of negative stressful moments in our life, and at Disney the outside world just seems to be put on hold and forgotten about.
Another magical moment that instantly comes to mind, seeing my 4 year old's face absolutely light up when she first met Ariel. Tear jerking and unforgettable moment.

Some of mine are;
Celebrating DS birthday, as we were waiting for the monorail a cast member looked at him and said “yes” my son said “huh” but I knew what he meant and we got to ride in the front with the driver. Dating myself I know.
Celebrating DW birthday, we had breakfast at Whispering canyon and boy did the cast members help us to celebrate.
Riding “Living with the Land” during the year of a million dreams when a cast member jumped on board and an asked if we were have a magical Day? The he said well it’s going to get more magical all of you are getting a EPCOT 1-day fast pass.

This past September at DTD House of Blues Gospel Brunch, celebrating our 30th anniversary. My wife really wanted to go to Churchill, Manitoba to see polar bears in the wild...she loves polar bears. We looked into it but the cost was just too much, about triple the cost of a WDW trip when you factor in travel, rooms, tour guide, tundra buggy etc...
I felt bad about not doing the polar bear excursion, and was silly enough to apologize once again in between a couple of soul stirring songs drifting from the group on stage and my wife just smiled and said "There is nowhere I would rather be right now."
Pretty magical for an old guy who feels he can never be the husband she deserves.

Having breakfast at O'hanas, a few months after my Dad had passed away.
We were there to celebrate his birthday, and we knew if he had gotten better, he would have been there with us.
We had his photo, and told the waitress what we were celebrating.
Right around dessert, she returns...with all the characters...and a huge chocolate cake, and announces a very special birthday.
We shared the cake with everyone around us.
It still makes me tear up thinking about it.

That's a great story. My hubby likes to tell people how I never actually said yes to his marriage proposal. I was so happy that I just started crying and kissing him. He figured that my answer was yes when I let him slip that gorgeous ring on my finger! LOL

I know I've mentioned this a couple of times on other threads, but whenever I was watching the daytime parade in MK. The Mad Hatter noticed my Alice t-shirt that I was wearing, and got Alice's attention, and pointed to me. She recognized me from meeting her earlier, and got very excited and waved to me and blew me kisses. Peter Pan got confused by their excitement and pointed to me and asked them "Her?" Then Wendy waved to me. It made me so happy that all four of my favorite characters pointed me out, out of the hundreds of other people watching it. It was so magical!!! :)

magical moments made at Disney.

Our most magical moment was the first time we entered onto Main Street and had our first glimpse of the Castle. A spot in our heart for Disney was forever made.

Gosh how do you pick just one? Your first trip with your babies is one you will never forget! Each time a cast member or character goes out of their way to do something special for your kids is the best! I have former students that have interned at WDW and tell me stories of their experiences with guests! Makes it even more special when you stop and think that more than likely there is a college kid in that costume sweating their tails off to make your experience magical. One of my favorite memories is when my then 17 yr old had the biggest crush on Jack Sparrow! And we went to that POC show and they picked her to be in the crew! Not once, but 3 times during our trip! The smile on her face! Magical! Or when my girls got picked to be a part of the Backlot Tour! Funniest pictures ever! Or when I met the mayor of Disney World on Main Street and he kissed me on the cheek! Being the last ones on Main Street at 3 a.m. and having a picture of me and my sweetie in front of the castle! Just us! I can't wait for June and make some more magical memories! Hope yours are just as special!
